WOOT RAIN...TSF (Nov 3 or 4)?

So now we gots the rain shouldnt be long for TSF to open. I want to go out and play here soon. Wanting to do a TSF run either Nov 3rd or Nov 4th. I plan on running Power Line trails to FB5 (blue to single diamond) up to Crusher doing the upper section of Crusher. Then heading too Airplane Hill. Both the Crusher and Airplane Hill are labeled triple diamonds. Anyone intrested, if not I goes it alone.

Heres section that leads to Upper Crusher

Think a mostly stock rig can make it? If so I'm in! We all know anything under 42" tires might as well be stock, lol

A bit off topic, but how do you think the Iroks perform compared to the MTR's Chris?

Ouch! I didn't realize they were that soft. Makes me lean toward the MTR's more. I've never heard anything negative about MTR's.

Would it be much of a drag to have a stock TJ along for the ride? I'm itchin' to get out with some fellow jeeps.

Your more then welcome to come. Since your stock you will be taking a few by passes. After a few bad groups ive had in the past I got a few rules.

1) You must air down to a min 12 psi. Dont want to air down thats fine but I will sit there drinking my coffee and watch you beat your jeep trying to up trail. I always have my air system and will gladly fill your tires if you do not have one. Airing down is the best way to gain traction.

2) Stay as a group no one wonders off. If your stuck or broke down the whole group stops unless one person is sent out for parts. Before the run begins I will state the route and tails we will be taking. If you have CB channel 22 is the normal unless other wise stated.

3) Only one person spotting. Driver doesn't need 10 people telling him/her different things to do.

4) Im easy on the skinny pedal if you are not and like to Baja up the trail and you break something. Ill be there drinking my coffee watching you fix it. Im not crawling in the mud AGAIN to work on someones jeep cause they didn't wheel smart.

/rant off

We will be doing some trails that will be a lot of fun in a stock rig to get out to the trails that are hard. There are by passes like Banks said, and if you have never been out there before we'll make sure you don't get lost.

My passenger seat is open as of right now, so if you'd like to ride along on the hard trails you're more than welcome too.

I couldn't agree more. You going to have a passenger? Might offer up on the face book page that some one can ride along if they want to. I think it might help some of the people that are nervous about airing down to see how it helps first hand.

Those all sound like good tips for sure, I've been lacking a bit in the traction department when I've gotten out, I'll try airing down next for sure. Stupid question: 12psi sounds really low.. My tires aren't going to fall off?
l'll also try and pick up a CB before November.

Cool, that sounds like it could be fun if I too am passengerless.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I'll try my best to drag my butt out of bed early enough to make it.

Yes you can pop a tire off the bead. Its not likely to happen to at 12 psi, and its a very easy fix on the trail. I run 6 psi in my tires without bead locks and haven't lost a bead yet. I wouldn't go that low with a tire smaller than a 37 though.

Start with 12psi and go from there. Resetting a bead is very easy. Just a ratchet strap and compressor. I dont see you popping one off the bead. I wheeled my stock XJ out at TSF lower psi to 10 on stock highway tires did very well on FB5. Ive been off roading for over 10 years I know what Im talking about. Ill be sitting around 3.5-4 psi.

If things go as planned my passenger sit will be filled.

I use a Vair 400p pump. It exspensive but fills my 37's up pretty qik. You could go the Smittybuilt pump its decent for tires up to 35's

In the past year and a half I spent 19K on my jeep, not including the price of the jeep. I know it adds up fast.
