Hey I'm down in Ooltewah. I have been going around here for quite some time. Love to have you come along. This is my first Jeep so I'm looking in to some clubs as well.
Hey I just got my first jeep a week ago, where are yall going Round here for some light trails? Looking for something not too rough for a 2.5 year old as a passenger.
Hey, there are plenty of light trails around here. Check out Prentice Cooper. Very pretty, and light trails. Nothing a stock rig could not very easily go through. Also there are plenty of fire service roads up in Cherokee Nat Forest and around. Big fork, if you pick the right trails can be easily rode on a stock vehicle. Adventure Off Road Park rates their trails, I have not been there but they have easy trails as well. Aetna Mtn and Aetna Mtn adventures is slightly more then easy although many trails are easy stock vehicle capable as well. But Prentice Cooper is probably your best option.
Thanks, jeep has about 3.5" of lift and 35" tires so it's a little higher than stock. Just looking for some entry level stuff I don't know much about the jeep
Mine is 3.25" lift on 35 and have gone everywhere no problems. You are absolutely fine set up like that. Worst case scenario you test out the skid plates! Seriously though I took a guy out to Big Fork, it was his first time out and in a Jeep, stock, and had zero issues. Let me know!
Also there is a good group up there in Cleveland, Scorpion Off Road Concepts. I went to their drive in at Buffalo Wild Wings and they are a good group. I have been to a Few Chattanooga Off Road Enthusiasts meets too. They meet the first Tuesday of every month at Mellow Mushroom on Shallowford in Chattanooga. Look them both up on Facebook. I have actually not ridden with either group yet though but seem like a good group. My wife and I take our kids and there are a few families there.
Little late to the party, but, I off road with the Chattanooga Off road Group as well, we try and have at least one trail ride a month. Send me a PM if you are ever wanting to wheel as F.i.d.o pointed out we typically meet the first Tuesday of the month at Mellow Mushroom around 6:00 PM to discuss what we have planned for the month.
Hi, Looking for riding opportunities in and around the Chattanooga area. Been to AOP. Been to Prentice Cooper. Want to go to Coppington Cove. Tried to hook up with CORE and some other guys out of AOP but keep missing their rides. I have a fair bit of flexibility and with some planning I can ride during the week as well as weekends.
I have done a fair bit of wheeling in the past. I had an 03 TJ for about 7 years and wheeled it across the country. Fell out of the sport about 5 years ago. When we moved to the Chattanooga area in April I decided I needed to get back into wheeling. I have a 2015 JK Rubi Unlimited. 3.5 inch lift, 35 inch tires, winch, etc. Not really interested in the real extreme stuff but do enjoy a bit of a challenge.
If anyone is interested in riding, let's plan something. We can start small and work up. Also interested in camping places where only my Jeep can get me.
I missed the CORE ride to Copinger Cove today as well but definitely wanting to plan a trip there. Big Fork is a good plan to ride, can get rough in places as well. Aetna is still available to ride from what I hear. There is also Aetna Mtn Adventures or whatever its called. I have ridden those trails before but not since it became a pay to ride place. I'm planning a trip to Windrock to camp and ride but may take 4 wheeler for that one, or maybe Jeep who knows.
I'm also a member of CORE. Their Facebook page is sorta hard to find, so hopefully this link will help you out. The FB page also gives a heads up to when the next Tuesday night meet & greet is to be.
Chattanooga Off Road Enthusiasts ( CORE ) https://www.facebook. com/chattanoogaoffroadenthusiasts.
This is where, if you can't make it to a meeting, you can find out when and where the next ride will be. Often it will give a meet-up location and time.
Thanks for the info on CORE. I'll keep an eye on their FB page for the next meeting.
Matt, if you plan the trip to Windrock with the Jeep, let me know, maybe I can meet you for the day. Have you been there before? Do you know which trails you will run? I was there a couple of weeks ago and had a great time.
Dan
