Hi--

I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler, and am looking for an honest, reputable mechanic in the Chattanooga area. I think I saw some less-than-glowing reviews of the Crown Jeep dealership, and someone else mentioned that Ringgold Jeep is pretty good. Hoping I can get a good referral before I have work done.

Appreciate any advice!

Helen

If you want to go to a dealer then go to Ringgold Jeep and they will take good care of you. I get all of my regular maintenance there. Also with all of my other cars over the years I have used Firestone at Hamilton Place for 15+ years.(if they are busy then plan on leaving your Jeep there all day). For any aftermarket products go to Toms Superstore.

I posted this message and sent out several PM's yesterday to get referrals for mechanics in Chattanooga. The reply from Bizz above pretty much sums up the responses I received: I got a several endorsements for for Tom's 4x4, and Ringgold Jeep. Also good to know about the Firestone @ Hamilton Place.

Thank you everyone for the info!

But if they tell you to go to Hixson Transmission STAY AWAY

Hixson Transmission put differential oil in my 5 speed and ruined it. They didn't stand by their work and I had to pay out over 2k to get it rebuilt.

My sis took her truck to Hixson transmission n they chargers 3 or 4 grand on tranny work. When she got it back it was still doing the exact same Thing. Upon returning it n bout $700 more they changed the cat conv. That was problem from get go.
I took it over there cause I didnt have time to change fluids and they said is was gonna ba $400 and it turned out being $650. It ended up being more in the long run cause they put diff gear oil in my tranny and ended up costing me another $2500 to get it fixed by amco cause hixson doesnt stand by their work.

Be very careful when dealing with Brads place (jeepsters). He doesn't just buy from auctions but he buys junk from auctions, fixes it up cosmetically and sells it for way more than its worth. I know of at least 2 people who bought jeeps that blew motors within a month. He does have some nice stuff also you just have to look real close.
