Hello... I have always loved Jeeps and just purchased a 2004 TJ Unlimited! I had a 99 Sport but had to get rid of it about 12 years ago when my oldest son was born. I'm very excited to be back as part of the Jeep community and was also excited to learn of Windrock Park. I never had the opportunity to take my old one offroad and would definitely like to do so with my new one. However, this is also my primary vehicle and I can't take any chances on any major damage. Can anyone who frequents Windrock Park tell me if there are trails that would get me offroad in 4wd, but also be easy on the Jeep and safe for my kids to come with me? I have 3 boys who I think would love it!
Welcome back to the sport. I've not been to windrock either yet but have friends who have and have seen plenty of pics. They have a website with details on camping, trails n what not I'm pretty sure there are trails of all difficulty levels from stock to extreme. I advise you not go alone but am sure you n your sons would have a blast. I have one son n he loves it. My jeep is currently in a major upgrade phase but as soon as its done n been tested on some if the local trails here in chattanooga that's where I'm headed. Good luck n be safe
There are plenty of trails that a stock 4WD can do and many of the main arteries throughout the park don't even require four wheel drive. Maps are available at the office. Windrock can be as mild or wild as you want to make it.
