Does anyone on here ever organize a trail run? Or, get a group together to caravan to a trail in VA/TN or elsewhere?

Just curious.

I signed up on the Jeep Badge of Honor program.....I know some think it is a silly program but I thought it might be fun......anyway, there are three eligible trails just over the Tennessee line off 75 that I may go try. I wouldn't even have heard of them but for that program.

Anyone ever get a group together to go run trails like those?

CAWille I would like to get a group together what is the name of the place in TN. You are talking about. I have been to a place off of exit 142 called royal blue they have some pretty good trials kinda pricey to go down just for a day or two.

thats a very long haul for my old slow yj i would have had to leave yesterday to make it,,l and cost me a fortune in gas cash,,lol

but uncle j and myself are always wheeling around here we also have a pay in place called rush off road park close by that is like 25 bucks for a week or 75 for the year it has mild to tear ur stuff up trails a few of us got together this past summer for a ride there.had a great time with hillbilly, uncle j and myself these guys are great to wheel with..

we deffenetly need to get up this spring for a meet and wheel ride, there are a couple good camping spots close to my place, carter caves state park and there is a K.O.A.even closer to rush, im not sure about camping at rush but uncle j may know or we can find out about it.

i would like to start planning a run for spring or summer now, because its hard for alot of us to just jump in the jeep and go at the same time..

anyway i hope some of you all can meet up for the run ur talking about and have a great time,,,for me im wheeling every day on the farm here cutting firewood ..and working on my rental houses..

BAP I would be up for some wheel out your way. So get the ball rolling on it.

By the way not sure if I am going to make out your way this week. My buyer is crawfishing on me now. I went to Bloomington today and he called just as I got there saying he could meet me in a couple of hours. When I told him I was 5 to 6 hours away. He said that his wife was trying get him to go on a trip next week so may not be able to meet me.

Scout. There are three trails that qualify on badge program at Windrock park Tennessee. There are even videos of this place on Youtube.

Great would love to do some wheeling. The jeep owners I can find around here have some really nice mall crawlers. $30,000 rubis. With a few grand in it lift, wheels, tires, and winches. Just in case the Walmart parking lot gets snow covered. LOL

that always amazes me,,,,why do they do that,,,i could understand if they drove humvies, tahoes,or even new grand cherokees, but to the wranglers i just dont get it,,
i geuess if i were rich i could understand but this ole country boy that barely makes his bills and runs a yj that is a rolling project that i never have the xtra$$$ or time to put into it never will,,,,lol--

but anyway,,,i went and looked at another yj im thinking of getting (can be seen in the yj forum under looking at a 94) and this groupe is pretty hardcore and know of alot of places to wheel and have invited me and uncle j along,,,these places are free and anyone can wheel there,,,now they run rigs that are on 44s and such and will go where i know i cant but there are ways around the holes they have offered to show us all about them,so everyone start getting ready to hang on cause were goin,,,,the thing is they drink and wheel, i dont, they dont care if they break i do,,,so i will find out and then we can hit them trails and not worry about any of that,,,,i have never been stuck in my little yj and dont mind if i do but i dont want to break stuff that i cant afford to fix,,lol, and i dont want to take anyone there untill i learn it myself if ya understand,,,

I hear ya like to wheel but I am a poor boy myself and my TJ is also my DD so I can afford to break it. Maybe one day I can get something else as a DD.

Well, I am not a rich man either. Mine is a new daily driver but I don't intend to tackle any trail that is going to tear her up. I just want to get out and get her a little dirty. My wife keeps asking why I bought a Rubicon since it hasn't been off blacktop yet almost two months after purchasing. All I have done is undercoat it, wash it and wax it. I just want to run some easy trails and have a little fun. I do not want to run any trails where brush is scraping down the sides of my Jeep and leaving me with Kentucky pin striping.

A friend of mine just bought a Raptor and is going on a Raptor run in upper peninsula of Michigan where he is to run approximately 500 miles of trails during one week.

I told him once he gets back, he and I are going to go to this Tennessee park and try the three trails listed on the Jeep Badge of Honor program if not as many more as we can.

we have alot of trails that wont break yer rig, but it sure will sling some mud all over it,,i would love to hit some rocky areas this mud is alot of trouble and probably causes more harm than bouncing off a rock or two and at least you can throw some armour on her to protect it from the hits you will eventually hit, but the mud get clogged in every crevas of your rig and holds moister and grit that causes wear and rust,,---but hey we bought jeeps to use and play with so lets do it---lol

Haven't had a day off to go looking yet but hope to soon. Little Shepherds Trail is nearby but that is more of a scenic drive than a trail.....state blacktopped all of it now so you see old couples in Miatas driving it these days. Red River Gorge is supposed to have trails. So is Breaks National Park in Virginia. You used to be allowed to drive the strip jobs here but they have closed them all off now. I will be looking.
