Central kentucky jeepers

Who all here is from central kentucky? Lookin for people who make jeep group trips down to slade or black mountain trips etc? Wanting to get out this year and do some off-roading with friends and meet new jeepers.

Mel the medic, this is a hard state to get anything going in. I am in Hazard and have been looking for Jeepers to do stuff with for months. The one trail run that looked like it would have been fun was over before I knew of it. We really need more advance notice of these things.

Down at Slade and Black Mountain quite often, but have to get some mild repairs done after my rig got rolled by my GF a few weeks ago down in Harlan. I highly recommend joining up with the Kentucky Krawlers for trail runs.

That's great! Does anyone know which trail takes you to Townsend cave in slade? I went down there the other day and got on the trail and came to a divide (trail to right and left and one ahead). We couldn't find Townsend cave.

I live in the Mt. Sterling area I go to slade about every other month planing on going toward the end of July. I know how to get to Townsend but the trails aren't marked so I can't tell you how to get there but I could show you

I am from Bardstown and as stated above this is a very hard state to get involved with jeeps in. I am working on my 06 and want to start getting it out on some trails pretty soon. It seems that there are only a few in the state and they are 2 hours away.

I just moved to Lexington, KY and should finally have my Jeep here shortly (it is being shipped from where I lived overseas previously) and would love to do a meet up and hit a trail once I get some checks on it done.

I am in mt. Sterling about 30 miles east of lexington when you get your jeep hit me up and we can hit some trails. There are about 3 or four that go with me. Larry if you ever come out this way let me know we would be happy to have you along also. We will probably be going the 16th of this month if anyone is interested

What are you building Larry? I mean I see it's an 06 but how extreme are you doing it? Mine is just got a 4" lift right now but I plan on doing other things just slowly as money allows

I got this jeep new in 06 with intentions of building up my self. Just now getting started. It been longer than I planned lol.
I just have 2 in spring spacers because I needed tires so I picked it up temporary but my goal is to put Short arm kit with a tummy tuck and Aussie locker in the front. I am in stage of deciding on gears. I think that's the next upgrade. I am running 32 Kendas and love them. Consensus is 4:10 or 4:56 but I am actually considering 3:91.
My girlfriend has 2012 JkU she just put 35 on and ordering her lift kit Friday. So I kinda have 2 going at once.

I'm in lexington. The only trail I've hit is the interstate. Lol

Looking to take son out to dirty turtle or something when I get a free weekend.

Kentucky Jeep Owners Club

You all should check out Kentucky Jeep Owners Club, they have charter clubs in Louisville, Lexington, Paducah, Bowling Green, and Somerset so far, but are growing and plan to start more charters in Eastern and Northern Ky. They have an annual event at Black Mountain, Pickett State Park, Interlake in IN, LBL and several other places. Great group of people.

There are no fees or dues to belong, they have a website and a FB page for the KJOC, and Facebook pages for each charter, just go to your closest charters FB page and click "Request to Join", Make sure an Admin can see that you do own a Jeep on your FB page, as that is the primary rule.

They have a Facebook page @: https://www.facebook.com/groups/333490836742888/

And a club website @: https://www.kentuckyjeepowners.com/

I am in Georgetown, and looking for some family friendly trails. Should have my lift and tires in the next month or so. Looking for some trails to take the kids on, nothing too technical. Looking for some trails, post up some idea, web links etc.
