If thats the welcome center up by the dam on LBL, it is about 20 miles away. If I remember correctly there is some sort of welcome center 1 mile from turkey bay entrance. There is plenty of room to meet by the guard shack if it is not full as crap that day.

We are staying just across the bridge at Kenlake. Only 5 miles away we probably won't drive up to the NWS just to turn around and come back.

That is the Golden Pond visitor center. I hope they have the bridge construction done by now, or you'll get to see how much fun I've had getting over there the last four or five times I've been to TB.

One thing you can absolutely count on. Take it to the bank: It will be completely packed in there all weekend long. Holiday weekends are horrible there. Or the last one I attended was.

I'll be at the gatehouse at 11:00.

We had to sit on the bridge and wait for the one lane thing. In the rain , no doors LOL just a couple weeks ago.

Last time I sat on it there was a band of motorcycle "dudes" behind me on chopped out trikes. They all got off their bikes and started wondering around on the bridge behind me. I hope they have completed their work so it dosen't take so long to get over there.

So, can someone post directions or a map to get me to the guard shack? I'm coming down from Evansville, IN so I'll be on the Pennyrile for a bit and then will either jump onto the Western KY Pkwy or just go on down to Hopkinsville and catch 80/68 W over towards the Turkey Bay area. Ageless (or someone) can you fill in the details on how I get to the guard shack? Thanks.

LBL Map

Here is a map I used last time, and the notes we took. The route we went was 1, 2, 3, 4, steep hill, rock garden, C, 5, D, 2, 3, A, Mud, Tube, and back to first hill. It took about 6 hours.
I have a higher resolution pic but photobucket turns the pic quality down, and I cant upload pics to forum. PM me and I can sent it as attachment if someone wants it.

Right on the other side of the trail from where you have "tree down" written are some awesome hills. Like this one.

And this is the other side of it.
Many more along that ridgeline, probably 10 total counting both sides.

I'm gettin' really excited about Sunday. Can't wait. I LOVE the push-button anti-sway bar disconnects! Ready to see how much better having the diffs locked will be.

Looking great Trey. Can't wait to see that thing in person. Is it disconnected in that picture?

As far as the lockers go, unless you want to try them out (I know you will) you won't need them. It's really dry down here.

Yeah, Josh. I've got 'em disconnected in this pic. It had more to give but my rear tire would hit the incline if I went up any farther.

What about this place? Would it just eat my stock Rubi's lunch?

It looks like I wouldn't even be much of an appetizer for it.

Kate maybe. I'm betting Trey takes it easy on his first time out. He did just buy it yesterday after all.
