If you are looking into new Chrysler products I would avoid this dealer. Read my rant below.
On Friday June 29th 2012 I stopped by Oxmoor Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Louisville, KY to take a look at a new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I had been interested in buying one. I spoke with a sales person about finding me a Crush Orange and he was helpful and found me one right away. We negotiated a price that included my 2003 Nissan Pathfinder as a trade. I was told that the vehicle would be delivered and ready for me at the latest Tuesday July 3rd. I was quite excited and looking forward to getting my car.
July 3rd comes and I have not heard anything from the dealer at 5:00pm. I then called the dealer to be told that there was no vehicle for me; it had been sold in the other state. Basically they were unable to acquire the vehicle they had sold me. Needless to say I was very upset. I was not so much upset about the vehicle but more that they had no intention of contacting me to tell me this. I was then told by different people that I would be compensated by either taking something off the price or with accessories if I can be patient. I said that is fine but what exactly are you going to do for me? I was never given an answer. So the next day on July 4th I went and spoke to a manager that said, “We have one on the way and it will be here Thursday July 5th ready to go”. I called at 6:00pm on the 6th and the manager told me he never said that, he told me it would be Friday and I need to calm down. So Friday comes and I was told that they could only get 2013 models and they could not give me the same deal on one of those. Basically they had nothing for me.
After going back and forth I was told on Friday July 6th that they were getting a red one from out of state and it would be in on Monday July 9th. I received a call on Saturday July 7th that it would not be in until Tuesday July 10th, I said ok but what are they going to do for me. They have never done anything for me, not even a couple free oil changes. I finally got my vehicle on Tuesday July 10th. I signed the paperwork and drove off. A week later I was asked to come back in and sign my paperwork again due to an error. When I got there I was told that my payment was supposed to go up $50.00 a month, basically I said you can give me my trade back and I will go elsewhere. Magically my payment is back to the original amount.
Now it is August 9, 2012 and they still have not paid off my trade which is now past due, I still have no license plate and I have heard nothing from the finance company. I call today and they have not sent in any paperwork on the vehicles and my first payment is due in a week.
I have never had such a hard time buying a car. I have bought about 7 vehicles over the last 12 years. This is a pitiful excuse for a dealership and I will NEVER buy a vehicle there again. Please think before considering this company.
The exact same week this was going on, I was trying to deal on a '12 with Shelbyville Chrysler and they were looking at dealer trading to get what I wanted. Oxmoor had a JK exactly like I wanted...but Shelbyville said they WOULD NOT try to work with Oxmoor ever again because Oxmoor was shady and had done them wrong too many times in the past.
So, we found another JK at Wyler in southern Indiana and made a deal...was on my way back the next morning to fill out the paperwork and they said "the dealership sold your Jeep out from under us last night". You're kidding right? So the entire thing turned into a fiasco.
Moral of the story is there are more bad dealerships than there are good ones. It's a shame.

My GF is in the market for a truck... yes, a truck or big SUV... awesome Everywhere she has went they are just flat out liars who waste her time. Best one she was going to look at a Durango. They put her on a two wheel drive Chevy extended cab. She looked around and asked where the four wheel drive shifter was. The guy tells her "Oh no, Chevy is making four wheel drive obsolete with their new trucks". I told her to walk right then and there.
I worked at a dealership back in college for a couple of months. With very few exceptions they are all pond scum.
I'm personally stunned after all the crap they pulled that you still bought from them.

1) IBTL.....pretty sure forum rules say you're not supposed to bring up the names of dealerships or vendors you're having problems with
2) OP....you really should have walked away from the dealership, especially after the 2nd or 3rd time they failed to do what they said. I had a similar experience with the first Jeep dealership here in my area that I went to. I had a print out from Jeep.com with all the specs I wanted on a JKUR. They didn't have one in stock, but seemed to jump at the bit at the chance to get one from Houston...about 200 miles them. Said they'd call the next morning and let me know. Didn't hear from them. Went up there that afternoon and the sales guy (smarta** kid) said, "Oh yeah...that dealership sold the Jeep before we could trade for it." I asked why he didn't call me to let me know....he kinda shrugged his shoulders with a barely perceptible smug look on his face and said he was busy with sales all morning. Then a different sales guy and a sales manager did their best to try and upsale me on a MW3 that was $6,0000 more than the JKUR I wanted. Told me they'd knock $2000 off the sticker for my troubles. They had over a dozen MW3's on the lot....MW3's were overpriced and not moving. My wife, in the meantime, was already on the phone calling other dealerships in our area and quickly found one that met my desired specs. (The dealerships' websites are notoriously inaccurate when it comes to what they have in stock). I told the sales guy and manager that they blew it on the sale.....I'm too old to play their stupid sales mind-games and where I was going.
The dealership I went to was 20 miles away, but INCREDIBLY professional from the very beginning. No stupid "pit" like many dealerships have. No sales boards for the customers to see who's leading in sales, etc. Private, glassed in offices. Nice, calm atmosphere. The GM was walking through and stopped in to shake my hand and chat for a second, etc.
Long story short.....there's tons of other dealerships who would gladly treat you with respect to get your sale. Next time someone even seem like they're going to mess with you, leave as soon as possible. The sales guys learn these tactics from the sales managers who, in turn, learn it from their superiors. It's institutional at the dealership and is tacitly approved of.
2012 Black JKUR...stock for now
I just took delivery about 2 weeks ago on a 2013 JKU sport. I purchased it from Cross Jeep. They did not have what I wanted but they found me what I wanted from another dealership. We worked out the price and they had it at their dealership about 2 days later. The whole process there very pleasant. The salesman new his product and kept me posted of everything going on.
I had extremely good luck with Cross in Louisville. I would most likely buy from them again rather than my local LexVegas dealer.
Couldn't agree with you more. Went to the lexvagas dealer and had to explain to manager what "unlimited" meant. He kept bringing me build sheets of jeeps at surrounding lots trying to find one for me, and I kept telling him no I don't want this one it's a two door. Finally he asked me how I knew that by looking at the build sheet lmao. I had to also explain to him what came with the connectivity package, he kept telling me that meant it had navigation.
So I ended up at cross, very pleasant buying experience with lots selection on the lot. Sales person was very knowledgable as well. Definitely would buy from them again. Now after spending nearly $40,000 I'm on the preferred customer list and get the sales tax knocked off of my parts when I buy them. Lol
