Abby and I picked up another wayward jeep yesterday (that makes 3 for us now!). So along with the 07 JKU, and the 48 Willys, we now have an 89 YJ, black, lifted on 33's. Got it for a song and from what I can tell doesn't need much done to it. Little piddily shit, but mechanically sound! Woot woot for us! When we going wheeling again? Haha!

I have to admitt Im new to offroading in a wrangler... so havent done a whole lot... but love to try new things! And what Ive done has been a blast! Would my stock jeep handle the trails you take? or do they have alternate paths around the stuff it couldnt handle? Def let me know when you all are goin next and ill try to come down.. im off work most weekends

Moscoeb did everything in a stock TJ. He's lifted now, but stock would be sufficient for most of what we do. For the not stock friendly areas, there are alternate routes around most of it.

Same goes for you and if you're coming down this way. I'm sure we can get something together at any given moment. Lol.

Shops in the Bluegrass???

I am looking for a few things, from aftermarket seats to lights to winch mounts and can't seem to find a store in the Lexington area.

I know Trailblazers is in the area but every time I go in there the staff seems to be either on the phone with their girlfriend or trying to sell me something for which I have no interest.

Closest places I can find seem to be in Oak Ridge TN [Windrock] or one of the 4WD stores in Nashville or Indy. I don't know what they actually have in stock and I am not interested in "here is what we have in our catalog" since I can do online shopping as well as anyone [AmEx seems to think better than many].

Solutions to actually touch/feel what I want to buy in the area?

The hobby shop in Winchester. He's a custom jeep/truggy builder and can get just about anything. Competitively priced and very knowledgeable. Ask for Richard.

Cool. Does that mean he also does good custom welding/fabrication?

I also have a car trailer that is about a decade old, which has hauled a bunch of cars/trucks and it is beginning to need work [and better tie-downs]. I have the SOME of the equipment and SOME of the skills but don't want to make it a lifelong project.

Yes. That is his specialty. Custom fabrication. But he also is a vendor for about 60 different suppliers. I have him on task to do a SOA on my wife's 89 YJ after taxes get back. He knows his stuff!

Research has found that the 4WD store in Cleveland [Full-screenColumbiana]is suppose to have everything on the showroom but does not have install capabilities though most of the stuff I would want I can install.

It seems to be the only place to touch/feel stuff before bringing out the wallet.

As for fab work, many thanks for the tip. That will help greatly. I had a guy working for me a few years ago but circumstance necessitated letting him break into someone else's shop, rather than mine again so I have been out a welder/fabricator since then.
