The TJ just happens to my my DD and will be for a while, so I won't go over a 4" lift w/ 33" tires. Being 18 and going to college next year kind of leaves me strapped on cash as well haha.

A doubler couples 2 transfer cases to allow for ultra low range.

I just checked that doublin stuff out! Thats gonna be sick! Super slow, powerful crawlin! Basically looks like with custom plates, ya mate a chevy t-case to a stock jeep one right? But is it just for the rear shaft? But you also said yur beefing the axles up too, ya gonna go all detroit on em? Im sorry im buggin but i love stuff like this!!

Jeeping in Madison county with Moscoeb et al. was how we got our feet wet. We still go down there a lot and love it! In fact, we were stock the 1st several times we went and had a ball! I hope to see you make it out with us sometime.

I'd love to. I'm really hoping to learn more about the wheeling side of my jeep and the more mechanical side of it. Just need to get some more money to lift it, do some mods, etc.

They are old county roads that are not maintained and lead to the creek to play in also. As long as you stay on the "roads" or in the creek and don't get in any fields, you are fine.

Looks sweet. I'll have to think about it. Just looked on Mapquest and that's not *too* far away. Though I think we may head up to Cincinnati around 12:00...

I was at Jacobson Park today and saw two rubicons. One a TJ and the other a JK. The JK looks familiar, does anyone know who the dark green JK with a JK sticker where it says Wrangler on the side belongs to?

New to the area and ready to wheel!!
I'll go wheeling at the drop of a hat, I moved from MI in January and havent seen a trail yet. My TJ must think it has a new owner, one that treats it nicer.

Im looking to buy a house in the Mt Sterling area, and was wondering if there was a group of jeepers out there? Also how are the trails?

Not sure about the immediate area, but you are close to the mt parkway which goes over to Slade and natural bridge area. There are a ton of trails in that area.

I'm originally from Mt Sterling. Used to be that you could go wheel at the pipelines in Montgomery County years ago, but I don't think that's open to wheel anymore. Slade is definitely your best bet. It's only 30-45 minutes going out Levee Rd towards Clay City to get to the Gorge.

There's several guys in Mt Sterling that own fairly built rigs. One guy, John, has a tint shop in town. Another, Jordan, is now doing fabrication. There's another guy that has a stretched YJ nicely built rig that lives over close to the Dodge/Jeep dealership.

You're also welcome to check out our club. Twisted Off Road Club - Kentucky 4x4 Club has a lot of members in central KY.
