OK, not enough local discussion. If your in KY introduce yourselves and tell us something about yourself.
I'll start

Retired military, lower mgmt type,
Live in Winchester.
I'd be up for a gathering at Turkey if someone throws a date out that works for me. There are several other guys I wheel with that would probably come too.
There are several of us nearby to TB that wheel it frequently. Check ItsaJeep.Org. It's a pretty local site that has a TB trail ride section.
I don't spend a lot of time on that site personally, as it is pretty slow. (Not much activity.) But then again, when I get ready to go to Turkey Bay I just go.
I've only been as far as to have a trail head marked on my gps. From what I have gathered from others it's pretty good. They had some pics on KY Krawlers website Kentucky Krawlers.
I've been once, just to check it out. Didn't do anything too hard, had a 13' kayak on top. From what we saw, it was awesome. Anyone know about how many acres it is? Going to try and hit Slade or Big Rock the weekend of Oct 22.
I'm trying to find some good places to wheel. Live in Brandenburg, south of louisville. Got an 03 Rubi on 33's. Please let me know if anyone has some good spots in the louisville area. thanks.
Dirty Turtle is in Bedford, KY. 35-40 min from Louisville on 71. It's small though, 200-300 acres. Interlake is 1.5 hr away on 64 east, maybe 3,000 acres.
Hey yall. New to the forums, and picked up my first jeep recently. 90yj 2.5. It's my work in progress. Want to build a krawler=money pit, so for the next 12-24 months, it will be my project jeep. Just curious, anyone have or know someone thats running a 2.5 w/soa on 33's. Just curious what the mpg ends up being like. Future plan is 5.0l swap, until then I wanna play around from time to time, but think 31's on a soa might look too small.
MPG will depend totally on gears you're running and how aggressive the tread on the tires are. I can say that with a SOA on stock springs you're getting around 5.5-6" of lift and 31's will look tiny.
Welcome to the forum. Tell us more. Where are you, age, kids, hobbies, etc...??? Lots of us on here pretty savvy with mechanikin' n such, maybe we can help.
I'm 31 located in Hazard, KY. One son that will be 7 in Oct. Right now working my butt off 64hr shift and going to school FT. Grew up as a grease monkey, so I am pretty decent with working on cars; time is the big issue right now. Hobbies, wanting to get into rock crawling in the future with this Jeep. Other then that, play video games when the weather sucks and watch footbal. LOL
Cool to hear Hillbilly. I grew up in Pike County and currently reside in Anderson. I also get to the Hazard area on occasion with work. I'm always counting jeeps on the highway. I'm in either a van or F-250 that says Ameritech Security on it. If you see me give a wave. Anyone wheeling Saturday?

I've got a 89 YJ 2.5 soa on 36's and I think the look is about right. Not sure about the mpg, my gas gauge doesn't work lol. I will say that if I can get it over 55 mph it's a miracle or a really steep hill!
Just got back from Big Rock up in Maysville. It was a great ride with plenty of trails. Went up Saturday morning and rode till the park closed at 6pm. Met 4 guys from around Columbus OH and rode the trails with them. They are talking about going back in November if there are any takers. If you have never been check out the you tube videos of Big Rock on you tube.
