Jackson, MS Area Alignment Help?

I got my new meats locally, with a surprisingly good balancing job on the first time, but the alignment is odd. It seems to track well (pulls a bit right as it should) but things drift like a boat when stopping. It needs brakes and pulls left, but besides that it seems to float to the right a bit sometimes.

The passenger front tilts inwards at the top, visibly.

Take it back? Terry Road Tire and Alignment did the work. They usually are fine. But is there a better local place for a mildly lifted jeep with 33x12.5 tires?

Anyone here have any experience with who to go to, or (more importantly) who NOT to visit?

Thanks, but that was not an answer. I will not have time to do this for well over a month. I do not want my brand new tire to become worn after having spent $60 on a front end alignment.

Anyone have an answer to my question? Jackson area jeepers please chime in, please...

There is a good place on hwy49 in Richland.I usually see some lifted trucks over there. They haven't worked on my jeep but I took a few hot rods through there.Good luck

There is a state specific are all the way at the bottom of the homepage here. You will likely get better responses from more local people there as to what or who your best option would be.

Did the alignment shop check the camber and give you a print out? This would indicate to me that you may need ball joints or might have a bent axle tube.

So you're gonna pay another $60? I wouldn't. I'd take it back and have them redo it and give me a sheet with numbers. If its just been a day or 2 they should not deny you a 2nd look

I know that you were trying to help. But it was not an answer. I asked a question and you posted a link to something that did not answer my question. I did no request info on how to do an alignment. Thanks again, but it was not an answer to the question that was asked.

I know how forums work (I own one of my own.) And know about stickies and FAQs and all that. I know about people who enjoy answering questions of new folks with "search the archives" or "read the FAQ" and such and never have seen any reason to do this.

That being said, I never asked the question that the sticky answers...

The Mississippi forum gets little to no traffic. I know there will be a better chance of a response in the main vehicle-specific forum in such a case.

I honestly DO appreciate your trying to help me, but pointing a new and somewhat lost member to a sticky that does NOT answer the question that was asked does not qualify as any sort of a real answer.

I did not mean to offend you, but you did not answer my question and sort of just dumped me off on the side of the trail, so to speak.

I will post again in the Mississippi forum, but it will probably not get a response better than what I got here. It seems to mostly be about rides and clubs and gets little to no traffic.

Also, it is not strictly speaking a local question as the best answers to the asked questions have been rom non-Mississippians.

Again, thanks, but I was accurate in what I said. Take it easy, man... :-)

Be aware that with the way the TJ's front-end goes together, it can create a very strong optical illusion that you have an excessively high camber angle. My own TJ looks like it has an excessive camber angle but I have verified it is right on.

The only adjustment, alignment-wise, I would worry about is the toe-in which is stupid-simple to do on your own. I can measure and adjust my toe-in to right where it should be in less time than it takes to get to my nearest alignment shop. But it doesn't sound like you want to do that, so my comment is mainly to be less suspicious that you have an excessive camber angle.

With most suspension lifts, the caster angle will be fine.

Yeah, I am not in a position to do anything to this vehicle on my own at this moment. That will change in another month, thankfully. At that time I will be trying all the things in the sticky that Sarge pointed me to.
