Hello guys and gals! My name is Matt, I live in Houma, and I just bought a two door 2010 Sport Wednesday. I have wanted a Jeep since before I started driving, a good 20+ years now, and I finally bought one! I love it so far! Unfortunately, this purchase is only due to the fact that my 2001 Camaro Z28 was totaled out on June 7, while I was driving to work. I had to be cut out of the car, and spent three weeks in hospitals, and I am still recovering.
I had saw a 2006 Wrangler X at a dealership, so I looked it up, and it was within my intended price range. I went to look at it Tuesday, and test drove it. It had the 4.0 with an automatic, with 101k miles. It was really everything I was looking for, and had a brand new set of wheels and tires installed by the dealership. I filled out the paperwork to see if they could get me financed. The salesman, a friend of mine returned saying that they couldn't finance me on this one, but I was approved for a 2010 Sport with the 3.8 and manual transmission, with 49k miles. I thought he was joking with me, especially since this one was $4k higher than the one I looked at. Well, long story short, he wasn't and I bought it Wednesday, and brought it home. As of this time, I have yet to even drive it! I am not allowed to put weight on my left leg yet, due to a broken leg, among several other injuries, sustained in the wreck. I had to let my mom drive it home for me, and my girlfriend and best friend have been driving me around in it every since!
At this point, I really know next to nothing about Jeeps, so I signed up here to learn all I can! I just ordered some soft doors and nerf bars today. The next thing I want to do is work on upgrading the factory stereo system with a new deck and all new speakers. Later I definitely want to lift it and put some wheels and bigger tires on it.
Well, if any of you are in the Houma/Thibodeaux area, hit me up! Once I am able to drive my Jeep we can meet up, and I can start learning!
