In my opinion, the first thing that should be done is setting up a trail ride. That would allow all of us to get to know each other and do some wheeling.

My suggestion would be to decide exactly what you want to start. Does everyone want a strictly Jeep "club" or it open to all 4x4 vehilces?

We all need to decide the best time and place to meet. My schedule is pretty flexible except for late Sunday evenings. Also lets keep in mind PolloLocco from DeRidder in our decision of a meeting place.

I have a tow rig and I have wheeled as far as Austin, TX. All I need is time to be notified to plan. I see all these "I can wheel, give me a time" posts, of which I am guilty too.

I would like to propose a Turkey day run at Catahoula, it's an off-road park in Sicily Island but I think that it's the closest legal place for us all to wheel.

Who is up for a run on 26 November at Catahoula?

Reviving an old thread, hopefully somebody will get an email. I'm organizing a trip to Mudfest on 11 February, check the thread in the LA forum.

Hey,my buddy and I are going to start a local jeep club in S.W. Louisiana, thinking of naming it SWLA Jeepers or something like that,we'll be printing some stickers and shirts in the near future. Maybe we can meet up at a local place for a meet and greet and talk jeeps and such. We've been one a couple runs to Crystal beach with other clubs, but it would be nice to have some locals to go with us next time! So,if you have any questions, just ask!

Yes! There are plenty of Jeeps near Shreveport and New Orleans but in the Fort Polk/DeRidder/Lake Charles area there is no organized group. I would be willing to put flyers on windshields on Fort Polk.

What do you think about trail rides at Catahoula Recreation in Sicily Island?

Never been to Sicily Island,so it would be cool to go with someone thats been before! Thats why we were wanting to start a local club to get people out and go to new places!!! We're still in the crawling phase of the club so far. We are both working nights right now,but as soon as we get some time,we'll try to go to a company to print some stickers and shirts. Yeah, some flyers would be great around Polk. Let us finish up our logo and other loose ends and we'll put some out! BTW,for our logo,we're thinking of a crawfish driving a jeep while he's holding a beer in one of his claws!
