Petite Jean area trails

We are heading up from Texas for spring break next week. Any recommendations for us beginners? We are wanting to break in the new jeep...haven't had it offroading yet and sooo excited!

I'm not that close to Texarkana but I do work at a dealership in LR. If you're needing stuff installed and you don't mind the drive I can help you if you wanna pick a day to knock some stuff out.

Wonder how many times I've been by your place? We stay at Nebo a few days at least once a year.

Thx jmcc75! I am sure it will be a great time. Bringing our mountain bikes and just looking forward to being outdoors...even if it's raining! I am new to the forum but next time I will give some notice so we can get a group together!

Hey yj! Were you able to find out anything for us? We're not opposed to driving your way if there are trails around nebo...think you are only about an hour from where we are staying. If not, no prob...appreciate your help!

Tough, hey I apologize, I'm having trouble finding trails to go Jeepin on around Petit Jean. There are tons of nice country roads and backboards all on and around the mountain. Most actual trails are hiking/mtn. Biking trails. I've not given up hope yet.

They're driving from a state away I don't think an extra hour will hurt plus if they're lucky they can see the lights and that's some trippy sh!t haha

Where exactly is that my mother in law lives in Dardanelle that would give me an excuse to take the wife and kids to see her. I think we may even be going up there a couple days in two weeks.

Take highway 7 north until you reach "old" highway 7 (it will be a left off of highway 7 and there's a horse ranch right as you turn off). Keep driving til you hit dirt. Turn right off of the blacktop. Stay on that road and drive til you find a small rock wall. It's an over look and that's where the lights are said to be seen I hope everyone enjoys their stay. Remember, if you see the lights, don't worry its just lost souls of silver miners!!!!!(cue dramatic/creepy music in the background haha).

Haha! We have that same motto in TX. We had a great time...lots of hiking and mountain biking. Didn't make it off road since we lost a day to the fog...but a great trip otherwise!
