Yeah I live on HWY251 out towards Ardmore. Wooley Springs (CR-96) and HWY251, might as well be Thatch.

I spend alot of time in Athens, and work in Huntsville. I am usually i=on my XL1200, but when Im in the Jeep I drive up and down HWY 53 and there are alot of wavers, not too many non-wavers out this way.

In Fact, I was headed up HWY 53 day before yesterday and gave the wave to a JK headed towards HSV, and this gorgeous young lady waved back excitedly... THAT was worth the effort!!!:thumb:

Anyone know of a Jeep for sale around Huntsville?

I've been trying to find one for some time now, but so far I haven't managed to find anything in our price range that is in decent shape.

I'm looking for the following:

YJ or TJ Jeep.
I6 / manual trans
exterior in decent shape
mechanically solid
mileage preferably under 170k.
We don't really want to spend more than $5k.

Lift/tires are a plus but not specifically a necessity for now. Anyone know of anything not listed on Craigslist?

2006 TJ here in Huntsville/Madison. Just got her this weekend. Looking for a good, reliable Jeep mechanic. If anyone can recommend one in the Huntsville/Madison area I would be MUCH appreciative! Glad to finally be on here!

Rocket City completed some mods and repairs for me last year, but reaaly can't brag on them since, I had to make another trip back to them since my transmission lines where leaking the day after they replaced the radiator for me.

They acquired Huntsville Driveshaft last year. They charge much more than anyone else for new drive shafts and rebuilds. However, their turn around time is typically less than a day.

Regearing axles... I am at nine business days so far one bare axle that is not in a vehicle. It took two weeks last time as well for another set of axles in the vehicle. Their regear prices are reasonable, but they just take forever.

Ive heard they were overpriced too for the work, never had any personal experience with them but i do all of my work myself anyways. What kind of work do you need done/plan to do to your Jeep? I have a shop full of mechanics but they handle Mazda/VW/Audi mostly.

Welcome to forum and congrats on the new TJ!
