There is an off road park in Tuscumbia, AL. I am from Florence, but have not checked it out personally. It is called Hawk Pride Mountain. You can google it and check it out. It is about an 1hr and 15min away from Huntsville.

Bankhead national forrest is about an hour west of you, worth checking on that. I never went off road there, but the hiking is great. Also, check on Wheeler wildlife reserve, just off I-65 in Priceville. Tons of land in Priceville/Somerville/Laceys Springs area south of Huntsville, no idea what is legal/not legal but worth asking around about those areas. Lived in Decatur/Priceville for 30 years. Man, I love Florida
