The Wrangler Forum 2016 Veteran's Day contest winners announced

The Wrangler Forum 2016 Veteran's Day contest
Open to all service men and women both past and present from around the world.*
Winners receive a free 1-year supporting membership**

The rules are simple:

  • Posting open for 3 weeks, from Oct 10 – Nov 10, 2016
  • Post no more than 3 pictures of yourself while serving in the military and tell us a little about yourself. (please remember OPSEC, we don't need too many details)
  • Nov 1, 2016 – The polls will be opened and members can vote for their favorite people.
  • Nov 11, 2016 – The winners are announced: Two winners will be chosen from all entries by a random number generator, and a third will be chosen by polling the forum membership .
*Veteran's Day is an American holiday celebrated on November 11th and is to honor veterans of the US Armed Forces, both living or dead. This is not to be confused with Armistice Day that commemorates the end of WWI (the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 1918) or Remembrance Day celebrated by British Commonwealth countries honoring military veterans that have died in the line of duty much like the US Memorial Day.

For the purposes of this contest, we wish to honor members of the military regardless the country for which they served
(no North Korean, Al Qaeda, Taliban or ISIS members please.)
**Should a winner already be a supporting member on Nov 11th, they will be upgraded to a 5-year membership.

Note: Previous winners are welcome to participate.

Cool Idea, and thanks to all the Vets and those who Support them.
Here's a couple pics of my family and I.

-First is Pulling into West Palm Beach FL on USS CARR FFG-52, Now decommissioned.

-Next is one of our Homecomings. Visited England, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Scotland, and Russia 3 times during that trip. Then we got sent down to the Caribbean for counter drug ops.

- Finally, the third is a picture of my wife and I with the Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the World" He was the guest speaker at the San Diego Supply Corps Ball

These are from the early 80's in my Marine Corps days working on F-18's.

  • Inspecting a whole bunch of 500 lb High Explosive bombs during a large scale bombing practice at a range
  • Testing the weapon systems in the cockpit
  • Corporal of the Guard; Jeep included

I can honestly say that my years in the Marine Corps changed my life for the better - they literally knocked the punk out of me in my youth!

Proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force (1988-1992). Serving our country was a honor and a privilege. Our military is comprised of a lot of great people. My salute to all that served.
