Wish I'd seen this! Me and a friend from Atlanta (2006 TJ Rubicon) went up to Tray Mountain, then did Dicks Creek and another trail that has no name. Left at 7am, back at Johns Creek at 4:30. Heck of a fun day. Would have welcomed another person. Trails were completely empty.
A stock jeep will do fine on most trails you don't need a lot of upgrades to start with. I would recommend going with others though. When I'm by myself I avoid anything that has the potential to get me stuck. As far as experience goes its kind of like swimming. You can't learn if you're not in the water.
