Thumbs up Camping/Fishing and Trails North GA

looking for some ideas on where to go in the north GA mountains.
Wife and I would like to Camp/Fish and hit some trails to see the area.
We are from Florida so any input would be great.

Check out Amicalola Falls - there is a trail there, you go to the top of the mountain, go left where the rental units are and the pavement ends into a forest road. There are camping areas all through there and out the other end along the creek. If you enter from the falls you can tell them you are passing through on the trails and they will let you pass without a fee most of the time. It's a relaxing and easy ride but not sure how it is in the winter months.

You could head to Helen, GA. It provides plenty of hotels and restaurants when you want to enjoy civilization. Trey Mtn and Low Gap both provide plenty of Forest Service Roads for exploration. Low Gap has camping and places to fish.
