Easy and scenic places near Winterville/Athens

Hey everyone, I'm a new Jeep owner and have never been out 4 wheeling before, so I need some "training", so to speak..lol. I will be in Winterville late December, and was looking for some tame trails to cut my teeth on. Some simple double track with low creek crossings and some nice views? Thanks in advance..can't seem to find sites that have any good maps.

You can always go run the forest service roads. Also there is a nice little trail the goes from the Dillard area over to hwy 515 via forest service roads. Its got a river crossing that is easy to do. Its a good place to get your feet wet.

Thank you..I picked up a Georgia atlas and gazetteer, and that should help my plans.

I found that FS road by looking through my Atlas/Gazetter. I just went for a drive one day to see where that road went cause I seen it crossed the Tocooa River. That same road was on my FS Road map so figured it would be something worth checking out. Also there is a easy road that goes off from the top of Amacolla (SP?) Falls that had some short turn around trails off of it. I use to live up that way so I road all over the FS roads just to see where they went and what was around them.
