I'm a communications officer 3 I work 911, non emergency, police dispatch, fire dispatch, teletype, emergency medical dispatch and training office.

However I've been here for 8 years and with all the politics and micro management I'm really getting burnt out of it.

Not to mention the constant debate about our Retirment getting hit.

Our union is a joke it seems like and our chain of command is mostly all women getting paid 150,000 a year and have never worked for the agency prior.

You guys may feel under appreciated, but without you LE wouldn't know where to go. Staying calm in a crisis helps us help others...

Thanks

And, since you guys have Jeeps, it can't be all bad... :-)

Ga. A county in metro Atlanta. Closest I can get with our GDM. Lol. I'm going for a 2013 for my first jeep so I'm new. My boss told me about this forum and I've been stalking it for months now. It seems that all I see are wranglers on the road. There are a number of Jeepers in my department as well.

I just finished my 8 month (every Wed night) training and going to be an Auxiliary Officer for my city... We do a lot of community work for ours and surrounding communities. Next Wed is our graduation. There is a couple of dispatcher positions open for our city and I was thinking about applying, but don't know yet. lol

We do armed - ride alongs, town picnick, school dance, school games, parade route enforcement, simunition sponges for tactical training LOL this is all un-paid. Some guys do it for the experiance then move to a full time department, some do it because they have never been able to get onto a department or are too old or busy to.
