Fortec - Roswell

Who here has had any experience with them? I am thinking about doing a lift/tire/wheel package with them. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I used them back in 2000 for my lift and wheels along with bumpers and siderails. Just got another Jeep and plan on using them again.

Nice new ride... the blue looks cool. Raisin and I live within minutes of Fortec. You close by? Always looking for more trail buds. PM me if interested. Steve

Awesome place! Got my 3.25 RC lift installed there. Very good job and and nice people too. Their grab handles are a nice addition too!

I need Don to go sell some sh*t! I was thinking I was going to do 33's, but now I know I have to get 35's. I can't be smaller than you guys when we are out on a trail!

You'd be fine with 33's, but can't hurt to go with 35s.

I'm picking up the rails today. These are the wheels. They are made by Fotec.

Sweet, they are rugged ridge with Fortec caps. They look great in person.

Post pics of the rails when you put them on.

Hey guys,

Your jeeps look sweet! Especially that desert tan one! I just got my 4 door Sahara (desert tan) about a month ago and have been toying with the idea of adding a lift and 35's like you guys did. Although I read that adding big tires and lots of metal can negatively impact fuel consumption, power, handling, etc... That sometimes re-gearing is necessary. How did the mods affect your rides?
Did you guys have to re-gear? If not, do you think you need it?
How is the fuel consumption, power, and handling after the mods?

Right now, my stock Jeep looks puny. I would like to beef it up just a little bit by adding a 2" OME lift with 33's.

BTW, I also live in the area and would love to ride with you guys sometime.

Thanks.

Sweet... Glad to hear you're in the area. Always good to have more to ride with.

All I've done to mine so far is add a 2.5" spring extender lift and 35's. I recalibrated shift points and speedo with a ProCal device and added some minor exterior cosmetics. No armor, bumpers or other heavy mods but would say this...

I modified within a week of ownership as I thought my ride looked like a mail truck when stock. That said, I don't have much to compare to when it comes to ride quality, fuel consumption, etc.

In the end, I wouldn't change a thing about what I did. I can live with the 15-17MPG, the ride quality is "ok at best" (but I am comparing to my Buick Enclave, Porsche Boxster S, and my now traded in Chrysler 300). It's a Jeep! To me, it should ride like crap but look awesome and be amazing in the dirt. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Go big. Dress her up and take her out. We'll be here to go with you!

(Oh, by the way, I will be adding bumpers, armor and more in the coming months! Lol!)

I hear you.

Mine looks like a beefed up mail truck. I kinda like it in an old school landcruiser kinda way, but wouldn't mind jacking it up 2" and throwing some M/T's on it. So, it'll look like one bad a$$ mail truck!

No doubt, it can perform whether it looks like a mail truck or not.

Yeah, I waited about a month I think. Welcome to the forum, let us know when you want to go wheeling and we can try to set up a ride. I itching to see durham town(?).

Stock mpg- 15-18

3"lift, 35s mpg- 13.5-15

Lift, tires + front and rear steel bumpers- Cant tell much of a difference yet with msgs

I definitely plan to regear eventually
