Georgia Jeepers

Trying to find out what Jeep events go on every year in GA, also a good place to take my Jeep off road for the first time. I know about the Jeep Fest in Jasper, GA every year, but none of my friends have Jeeps, so I have no idea. Thanks!

Just now realized I posted this in the wrong thread...sorry...nubes.

Hey Eric,

I have a 2010 silver Sahara Unlimited. I got it last May and have absolutely loved it!

I am in Ga as well. Would be interested in what other events there are out there. Depdning on where you live etc for easy trail type riding you can go up to the Atlanta Tract of Dawson Forest. But thats pretty tame. Just depends what youa re looking for.

Dawson Forest would definateley be a good place to start and get a feel for off-road driving and even get a river crossing in. See link to Dawson Forest Map. Lots of fun oads, some are closed during non hunting seasons. Shoal Creek Road goes through the majority of the WMA. http://www.gohuntgeorgia.com/sites/d...Tract_Line.pdf

Over all how is Shoal Creek Road? I am in Smyrna and looking for something close to take on.

I have been to Welcome And it is well organized yet free range. Pay your money and they turn you loose. most if not all trails have multiple lines from built rigs to stock accessible. Over all it was a good experience but it is a hike for me. They have mud, rock, and even intentionally downed trees on trails.

Shoal Creek Rd. Is not bad at all. You are not gonna find rutted out roads and such like you describded above, there are some spots that are fun. The only thing to be careful on Shoel Creek Rd. is when it crosses the creek about 1/2 through... depending on recent rain it can be tough to get across unless you have a snorkel kit which I do not.
Dawson Forest is a cool place to explore and run around though. Probably headed up there Sunday to ride the trails and take my son squirrel hunting.

Not sure if this is mentioned, but Tray Mtn rd is a nice easy trail. It was my first "mountain road". Here's a video I clipped together from a trip there.

It's better cold. Too much foliage when it's hot out.

Also, if you're interested in meeting some cool Jeepers and Jeeps, think about going to Jeep Beach this year - it's in Daytona Florida in April.

I just checked out the website for Jeep Beach. Looks like fun, plus the beach is my favorite place to be. Might have to try and go! Thanks for sharing that.

I'm planning on going to the Helen event in a couple of weeks... Question... Any Ga Jeepers going to Jeep Beach in Daytona for some or all of the event?
