That is your decision, just make sure they are buckled and properly secured.

My kids go with me on all my rides and have since they were 5-8 years old.

I, like others, would be considered about the 5 month old. At that age, they're still pretty fragile. That said, I took my 3 year, 5 year and 8 year old nieces and nephew out wheeling when they were down here a few months ago. They loved it. Had them all buckled into the back seat and upgraded from the "kid crusher" cage to the family cage so I knew they would be safe.

We sometimes make the kiddos get out on a steep climb or a sketchy rutted mud hole but other than that they're buckled in an ready ! And between my kids and our friends kids they all love the whole eating and drinking out of the coolers all day on our rides...happy wheelin !
