No. Only for large commercial vehicles.

"§ 40-8-75. Tire covers
Every bus, truck, full trailer, semitrailer, and pole trailer, with the exception of local haul pulpwood trucks and local haul waste collection dumping trailers, shall be equipped with suitable metal protectors or substantial flexible flaps on the rearmost wheels to prevent, as far as practicable, such wheels from throwing dirt, gravel, rocks, water, or other materials on the windshields of following vehicles. Such protectors or flaps shall have a ground clearance of not more than one-half of the distance from the center of the rearmost axle to the center of the protector or flap under any conditions of loading of the vehicle and shall be at least as wide as the tires they are covering; provided, however, that if any such bus, truck, full trailer, semitrailer, or pole trailer is so designed and constructed that the foregoing requirements are accomplished by means of fenders, body construction, or other enclosures, then the protectors or flaps provided for in this Code section shall not be required.

HISTORY: Ga. L. 1979, p. 906, § 2; Code 1933, § 68E-406, enacted by Ga. L. 1982, p. 165, § 4; Code 1981, § 40-8-75, enacted by Ga. L. 1982, p. 165, § 10."

i'm not yet. I was just thinking that 30" is kind of low for some trucks out there.

i've actually seen that enforced once, guy with an f250, dont remember how high it was exactly, but was ridiculous. he just had a sub frame welded all the way around to "lower the frame"

They probably all know it. I'm guessing most cops in GA own a truck that's lifted beyond that themlselves

I drove around in this for four years with no problems, except for 2 window tint tickets and a seatbelt ticket... The white Chevy is my stock NOT lowered '12 silverado for comparison.

This is when I had 36s on it and it made them look small..

My old YJ had no flares for about 5 years and no issues driving it around.

My current YJ also has no flares (has rears to keep gravel from breaking my mirrors) and even though it didn't see the road much while it was running, never had an issue. And my back tires still stick out past the flares.

My theory is most Ga officers are "good ol boys" and don't pay much attention to you unless you want them too.. Plain and simple.
