So, I was riding around today with no door, windows, or a care in the world and got caught in a wicked thunderstorm. Any advice for when this happens?

Any of your guys in NW GA.. I found a public road that has some pretty decent little obstacles. Nothing major, but a great view at the end of the climb. Let me know if you guys are interested and I'll point you in the right direction. (Rome, Calhoun area west of the pocket)

Take 140 west to Floyd Springs Road (right/north)
You'll cross HWY 156 staying on Floyd Springs Road and about 6 miles on the left there's a dirt/gravel road called Dunaway Gap Road (there's no street sign) so if you don't have a GPS (it's on the gps) then you can look at it almost all the way to the peak on Google Street View. At the top the road has a three point intersection. You can either go right, or left and in between there's a slight right (not on the map) that's between the two that obviously heads up the gap. There's some good light wheeling to the top and a great view at the peak. Haven't further explored, but it's public and all the roads/trails look neat.

These directions are from Canton side of Hwy 20

Take 20 towards Cartersville and look for signs to HWY 108. Upper Sweetwater Trail is across the street. Once you turn on Upper Sweetwater you will be driving down a narrow cury road that is a residential area. The pavement will turn into gravel then look for Lower Sweetwater lane or Hardin Bridge rd on the left. Those are the roads that start off as dirt roads and will get more fun farther you go in. Both trails take you to the lake. I have been told these are legal. You can find them on Google maps. Sunday late afternoon seems to be when most people show up to ride. Email me before you go and maybe we can all hook up. My best friend brings his CJ7 out there.

Georgia Overland

Check out this site guys.. it has tons of info on unpaved Georgia. Check out the GDOT map a few maps down.. zoom in on your area and the unpaved roads/trails are in orange.

Here are a few shots of mine in Harlan KY. The Georgia Bounty Runners (GBR 4wd Club... Wheeling in Atlanta) go there every year, this was my 3rd time there, love it.

Georgia Overland

^ I found a site that looks pretty awesome. It's got pretty much every single public dirt road and trail in the state of Georgia.

(I know I already posted this, but it's worth a bump.)
