New GA Jeep Girl

I wanted to find out about any Jeep events in GA and good places to take a Jeep off road for the first time. I know about the Jeep Fest in Jasper. I drove thru there last year, but didn't get to see any of the obstacle courses and things. Would like to check it out this year, looks like fun. None of my friends have Jeeps, so I have no idea! Lol Thanks!

Welcome! I live on the north side of Atlanta and I'm new to wheeling in this area too. I haven't found too much info about good trails but did some digging on my own and the US forest service has pretty good maps online of all the forest service and special use roads up in the mountains up north. I know there are several locations that give out paper versions of the maps as well. do a little search on google and you will see what im talking about. I'm mounting up my new bumper and winch early this week so once I get that on I plan to do a little exploring.

There were some guys on here from the north side that could give you guys better info. I'm on the southside and a buddy and I just rode today.

I'm up north, Johns Creek. The wife and I are new to GA and would love to get out every weekend if we could find people to go with. I just joined a group called the GA trail riders. They're doing a ride on Jan 18th that is open to all and good for beginners and stock rigs. Check them out.

Welcome noobs. I think us North side folks may be riding the 26th, weather permitting. It'll at least be me and Harleyrider. Maybe more by then. I'm in West Cumming BTW. If weather sucks we can always do lunch or dinner for a meet n greet

I usually work weekends so I won't be able to make it to most "sanctioned" rides. If anybody is around during the week send me a PM and we can meet up!

My first ever Wrangler should be delivered in the next 2-3 weeks. Been a long wait. Would love to ride with you guys some but I'm all the way down on the coast an hour south of Savannah.

Yes Rodin I'm going on the 18th. I'm also in for the 26th if we get something going in this thread.

Haha yeah probably. If you and Harley end up going on the 19th I will try and get a group together for the following weekend since I'm working on the 18th and 19th.

The location of Charlie's creek is described in this quote I found from Michigunman (I could find it but wouldn't trust myself to give directions):

"Charlies Creek is off of Upper Hightower Rd in Hiawassee. You take route 2/76 east to Upper Hightower then turn right on Charlies Creek. There are some fun off shoots. You will eventually end up on Sandy Bottom and then Tallulah River Rd. At the end it will look like the road dead ends at the river. You just cant see where it picks up on the other side. When the road ends drive into the river allong the right side for a couple hundred feet and then you will see the road starting up on the left. It shouldn't be too deep if it doesn't rain too much this week."

For the 26th ride, there's a chance they graded Charlie's. Someone said it was flat a month ago. If y'all go, please report back.

It has not been graded. It was a real fun ride. We actually saw appx 50 GA trail runners riding on it. My brother and sister - - law had never been and they got nervous in a couple of spots
