Gulches is a Journey.....personally if I'm going that far I would rather go on a non event weekend.

How much of Morris did we explore the last time out? Well, in terms of what our Jeeps can handle anyway.

I wouldn't mind going back again later this year if there are more parts to explore and dragging some of these Jeeps along. It was definitely a huge confidence booster for me w/ regards to the Jeep.

No. Gulches is in SC and a 3.5 to 4 hour drive. Morris is in AL and about 2 hours for us Todd.

Yes it is. It's got the best of both worlds. There are bypasses pretty much around everything. We had a WJ that went most places and around some. Definitely a lot different than the service roads we be running though.

I would only go back with Oscar or someone else who knows the place. Could definitely get in some trouble if you head down the wrong hill *cough*. Need to get to know the place.

Ask him about their next trip. I guarantee you will know how to pick a good line after a weekend of doing and watching other Jeeps doing it.

How much did we cover? Maybe 50%. Lots of it I avoid because of the wet. Dry that place will have more to do. Choccolocco is similar size. Morris is a blast and I think were doing it for the clubs anniversary ride in may.

If you guys want to go to either ill come out but you guys don't need a guide for either mountain

Vinnie or Jaq took me through a huge puddle in the morning. I wish I had video of that run - it was pretty good for the first time out not knowing if I would get stuck.

You didn't really push it much. If you don't get stuck you need to try harder

Yeah... first time out and had my limits. My dreams of selling OEM parts for good money to help reimburse aftermarket parts were still shattered though.

I'd like to crash y'alls next party. Morris Mtn. looks interesting and only about an hour from me. I am getting the wheeling itch bad.

Looking forward to Choccolocco. Wouldn't mind a day trip before then. Morris is pushing it distance wise for a day for a lot of us. GA Trail Riders has an open ride at Morris next weekend. I was considering it depending how many vehicles they end up with.

2 hour drive, 6 or 8 hours on the trail then 2 hour drive home makes for a long day.

Could be an option for you Mike if you don't want to wait until this group gets out again.

Thanks, Michigunman. I checked them out and looks interesting. If I can make it, I would like to tag along to Choccolocco. I am hoping to get into more rides this year, but I am going to have to prioritize some hobbies to make room.

You should definitely go. I had a blast at the last camping trip.

I was looking at the GA Trail Riders site too for Morris Mountain. Looks cool but I still lack some of the gear like tow straps and stuff. Don't want to get sent home if I go...

Unless another day trip pops up in northern GA between now and Chocco, I'll probably just be doing mods and stuff until then.
