Ride this weekend (25-26)

Hey folks, I was looking to see if anyone wanted to get together and hit up some trails this weekend. I was thinking Charlie's Creek, but if some of you more experienced Jeepers have other ideas feel free to suggest them. There has been some interest here by some who are still stock (myself included) and it's a ride that is not too challenging for a stock jeep so I figured it would be a good suggestion/starting point.

Good deal. Does Charlie's Creek sound good to you?

It's not a very technical ride from what I remember. There are a couple spots that may pose as a bit of an obstacle but that's about it. I'd say it's about a 3 hour run or so? There's a river crossing at the end but since there has not been any rain recently so the water probably won't go above your hubs by much.

Shoot. Only getting one weekend off a month is the worst part of my work schedule. Sure it's a 4 day weekend but I'd trade that for every weekend in a heartbeat. The joys of working in manufacturing.

For those interested in going I was thinking a 10 or 11AM time on Saturday or Sunday, and then pick a meet up location near the trail.

It's located near hiawassee. If you type "Georgia 2 and Upper Hightower Rd" into google maps it will show you. Take Upper Hightower Rd and after a few minutes it puts you on/turns into Charlie's Creek. If you follow Upper Hightower on the map you will see what I'm talking about.

So how's Sunday at 10 sound? Last time I was there we met up at the church just west of the intersection I gave, but since it will be a Sunday it's not going to be a good option. It may be best to meet where the pavement ends and Charlie's creek begins. Depending on where you guys are coming from we could rendezvous somewhere along the way up if you'd like. I'm coming from Gwinnett.

we're coming from johns creek. Always an option to meet at a breakfast joint. The only thing better than offroading is offroading and bacon.

I did look along the road that upper hightower is off of and couldn't find any gas stations after a quick skim. Maybe a gas station in Helen would work if we all have to pass through there anyway.

I'm going to stop here guys to fuel up.

655 N Main St Helen, GA 30545

If we leave here at 9:30 that puts us at the trail head for 10. I say we meet here at 9:15, everyone can gas up, grab snacks or whatever and head out at 9:30. Anyone in?
