I was gonna check this out Sunday, but somebody reminded me it was Mother's Day. Mom said thanks Cleveland! I'm pretty sure it's open becuase there are recent posts from other Jeepers on YouTube. This is more local than our last ride.
BTW. I'm scouting Prentice Cooper in TN tomorrow. I know it would be a haul to get there, but it has JEEP DESIGNATED AREAS and it's free. I'll post pics on a new thread this weekend.
Been to Sweetwater once. There's a lotta mud holes. Rock beach at the lake at the end is pretty cool too. Pretty straight forward. Not a whole lot of obstacles.
The entire lake, dam, most campgrounds and a lot of land are Corps of Engineering property. Corps of Engineer land is not illegal to travel on unless marked as such. If you were on Lower Sweetwater you were on Corps land. I am always careful not to wheel illegally. As long as you don't get off the trail where its clearly posted by private owners you are fine. The red stripes are Corps boundary markers between public and private land. I have never seen any info deeming it illegal to enter. You cannot go around any barriers or gates across trails or roads.
Maybe there are now, its been awhile since I went, but there were no signs at the lake prohibiting entry. Certain times of the year the water is up to the edge of the woods.
Please let me know if you have other info of it being illegal cause I definitely would want to know.
Good pics! That hill almost reached a pucker level 3.
