Vacuum Lines

Anybody had any problems with vacuum lines coming loose? I've got a 97 TJ with a 4cyl 5spd with 4.88 gears and twice the past two weeks my jeep has just died goin down the road an when I popped the hood an started both times it was vacuum lines that came loose. Just wondering if anybody has had similar problems.

I have not heard this yet. Usually they are on there with barbs. Maybe the hose is stretched out now?

Idk. I thought about replacing some of them but who knows if that would help. The first time it did it that hose was held on with a barb but the hose slid right off over it so I put a zip tie on it

What if you try one of the hose clamps with the screw to tighten down?

Sounds like the hoses are old and worn on the inside. That means they're probably brittle as well so they may continue to cause problems (like cracking and leaking) even if you can get them to stay on the barbs. They're super cheap from your local auto parts store. You buy it by the foot.
