I'm gonna guess this was directed to me...
Umm, no, it was a flock of about 20 hens and 5 jakes with a very ruffled up tom. And he was attached to his lead which allowed him to touch the ground, but just barely. After I unsnapped his lead from his harness he went straight to the flock, for a better look, but thought better of it when that ole tom took a stand!! Lol
If I didn't have my Jeep, I'd probably waste all my money on wine, women and song!!
When I'm driving with my 70lbs. Belgian Mal he stays in the rear cargo are with no restraint. I have a net between the two front seats that keeps him from going forward and a baby mirror below my rear view to watch him. I also found that the soft top boot keeps him off the tailgate while the cross bars on the JK top keep him off the wheel wells. When I stop, I hook his harness in to my top roll bar. I keep a retractable leash attached overhead with a strap so it's always ready. With the retractable I can lock it at exactly what length I need to keep him from hanging himself off the side of the rig. 35" tires and a 3" lift also help remind him that jumping is a long way down.
you know, after reading all of your responses and by the way, thank you very much. I think I am going to get him a harness and a retractable leash. I took the back seats out a long time ago, because who needs them?
My little sheepdog BEAN rides in the passenger seat with a doggie seatbelt.
You need some Safari Straps for the back and down the center and a SpiderWebShade to go over the top to keep everyone cool!
I have seen this done before and it keeps the dogs safe, the drivers cool, and looks totally badass!

I got Diesel his harness and the retractable leash and I have to say it works. I put the end of leash over the rollbar and just give him enough room to stand stick his nose out and lie down, happy diesel-happy mami
I have a very strong harness purchased thru a pet facility several years ago...hooks to each rear seat bracket (seats removed of course) and has strong hooks to attach to a dog's collar...mine has two extensions so that I can take both my dogs if I want...

That's a great picture right there.Beautiful Gal, great looking dog & nice jeep.
Ive had a leashed wrapped around the top roll bar since I got my Jeep. My dog knows well enough to not lean too far out on the sides, but after about 20 minutes of that she gets tired and lays down. She does however, require a blanket or two to line the back.
