Which CB radio did you order? After seeing how it got really dark really quick and then getting stuck and left behind I'm really looking into a CB. Just need some insight on which brand and how to go about installing.

That may be a good idea. Then my neighbors jeep show is the next day at hooters on Cypress Creek an Andrews. We can all go to it covered in mud.

I went with this one as it also has SSB and WEATHERBAND. I constantly watch the weather as I work on boats and just thought it would be good to have. I guess everyone has their own personal preference.

Amazon.com : Uniden BEARCAT CB Radio With Sideband And WeatherBand (980SSB) : Fixed Mount Cb Radios : Car Electronics

+1. Just picked one up at Bells CB for $150. More then Amazon but worth the extra since he's like...."come back and I'll tune it and if you have any issues on the install swing by and I'll help you out."

Out the door for the BC980 with a Wilson Flex-4 antenna, quick disconnect, and tail gate spare tire mount= $230 (cash). :-)

Went to Morris 4x4 to pick up a mount for above the mirror but they had to order it so I guess the install will have to wait.

Sweet. Which way you run the coax? down along floor or up top along the roll bars?

Waaaay easier to run along the carpeted floor, IMHO. I've seen it run thru the roll cage padding and it looks like the biggest PITA. But it also depends where you mount your CB. If you're mounting it by your mirror you may have to run the wire up top. Mine is mounted right next to the center console and it took less than 10 mins to run the wire. Just some rearrangement of carpet and tuck it back in.

Good deal. Yeah, going to mount it up top above the mirror. I'm assuming it going to be a PITA to run under the foam along the roll cage. Especially since I run a hard top.

Can't wait to mess around with it. Still waiting on the mounting bracket to arrive before I start pulling off panels. Hopefully the coax reaches without issue.

Does it need to be retuned with each use or should I just check it occasionally?

Just tune it initially and you should be good unless you reroute the antenna coax.
