With the little Coral Springs spot being so popular amongst everyone, and the recent JW Corbett ride I went on with people here I think both had a good turn out.
Soooo, Id like to get a group ride for this Sunday. Meet at I75 Exit 15 Royal Palm Blvd to Weston road at the Gas station/ Carolina Ale house. From here its a 25min drive. 2618 Weston Rd, Weston, FL, 33331
Trail ride is in Hialeah on private property. I talked with a Miami Jeep club and they have been having rides there weekly and know the owner. ( I will contact the owner just to let him know) I also spoke with Hialeah Police at the entrance to the place and there was no problem. FYI some trails have brush you may rub up against. My Jeep has 9000 miles so it sounds scary but I had no scratches after my ride the other day.
There is a nice Lake there and alot of trail. One trail has crazy whoops section that will flex out your jeep. Some tall, and steep hill climbs for south florida as well.
From Carolina Ale House I assume you will drive 25 minutes south correct? I ask because I am in Miami and wanted to check it out also but do I have to drive north to drive back down again? (Not that I mind)
I'm tentative, depending on how early everyone goes. I need to get myself up to Coral Springs for my older daughters' birthday party by 2 in the afternoon.
@Mgood you could probably come out for a few hours and leave straight to your party. I still want to gauge a decent time from to roll out.
I think if we meet at 9am to start our drive down and the Miami people that dont want to drive to weston can meet there around 1000. That would give us enough time to play for a few hours and anyone who needs to cut out early the whole day wont be gone.
For the people already down south or not meeting at the Ale House in Weston.
Due to this being on private property I wont be posting the address but you can PM me and Ill text you or inbox you the info needed if you are going.
Does 9am in Weston and 1000am at the spot work for everyone?
I say 10 so that by the time we roll out and reorganize at the "spot" itll be pushing 10am .
FYI: I am headed down tomorrow with another jeep to check it out again and take a lil trail ride. Inbox if youd like to go.
UPDATE: So MiamiDiver, Myself and a lady jeeper (idk her screen name here) all went out there today. The address was close but put us 10mins away. We spent about 4hrs out there and had a great time again.
MiamiDiver is coming from Miami, so we all decided to have the "south/Dade" jeeps stage at McDonalds. Its next to a gas station and 5 mins from the trails. I will post the address.
If anyone wants to bring a grill to cook for lunch let us know. If not pack a lunch and drinks so we can have a lunch break and BS. If youlook at google earth to cheat on the location its deceiving...Its a very good place to wheel. Your jeep WILL max out on articulation in some areas and there are some tricky climbs, turns, and decnts. Hope to see everyone come out.
Post pics! I'm tempted to leave to school late on Sunday just to do this but I dont know if I should risk causing some damage and not being able to drive up..
It was awesome! I only stayed for an hour and a half, but well worth the trip. Curious if anyone wants to make it a regular meet, maybe the 1st Sunday of every month?
