Hey,

I'm in the act of an install for the CB. Long story short...had originally wanted to mount it above the mirror but now am going to mount along the floor console passenger side.

Anyway, yes, there are plenty of members here sporting CBs and I think for the most part someone just calls out a meet up and post what channel they'll be on in case anyone wants to join.

My understanding is Channel 4 gets alot of chatter.

We use them in our club all the time! It is Mandatory on our Minimum Equipment List for Trail Rides. I like the Cobra 75 WX ST the best.

MrSig, is there a common channel you run? Or is it chosen that day of the outing?

When I was in Florida, we used walkie talkies most of the time. Not many that showed up for runs had CBs, so I'd bring a few extra walkies to hand out.
Here in Utah, CB is standard equipment. They're used on every run. Usually the channel is chosen before the run gets started.

Our club we run on Ch 8. Some other clubs run on 4 or 33.

Pick up a radio yet? Lots of guys here seem to prefer the compact models like the Cobra 75 due to its inconspicuous size. If you prefer a smaller standard radio the Uniden 520 is well rated.

I picked up a Uniden Bearcat 980 Reminds me of an Pioneer Radio with the display in the way it looks. But I didn't mind the size, etc. Figured if I was going to install one then I'd at least find the looks attractive.
