What do you mean meet on the tomato field trail head rather than McDonald's and the entrance?

Well they don't really like people just going out there to off-road so maybe we should meet on the main trail by the trail head it will look less like were all going togeather what do you think? I'm still not sure if we can run tomato field and 3 I want to make sure stock jeeps can get though ok

Also which trail did you mean by main trail and where would the trail head be? Note i wouldnt recommend starting 3 at the campground where 3 and 4 meet at that is normally way too swamped right in the beginning.

Noor his brother and I (all stock 2012 JKUs) on Tomato into Trail three north towards trail 4 then backtracked onto 5 a bit then backtracked all the way back out. The end of the vid is on 6 where there is some decent deep water areas. If you are hesitant we can start on 6 then when done (only takes maybe 30-45 min going super slow) then go to tomato-3 if people are up for it. I'm only throwing out suggestions so in the end i'll follow you

i love jeeps - have you had anyone question why you were at Corbett? When Dan(Hombre) shot that video we ran into atleast 5 different FWC officers/PBSO and they just waved as we passed them..and one of them was out searching for 3 "lost" jeeps lol

should be dryer. that was November and it has not rained that much. Last year this time it was a good bit dryer.

EDIT: after looking through the pics below i'll say it may not have been a "good bit" dryer. Maybe a "hair" dryer

Here is Jan last year:

This is going to be a great day. Thanks guys for leading this up and creating maps and such.

We don't have a CB yet, but maybe for Christmas.

6 east or west I've been west on it but it's too deep and if you take the high road then its one good bog spot maybe 1/8 mile long then grass and 3 from main rd or 3 from tomato

I was under the impression there was only one trail 6 starting where southgrade and stumpers meet and i highlighted on the map. There is water in the beginning that may be fordable now but possibly not. then like you said you take the highroad to bypass the deeper water. we then cut off the high road about 1/2 way down and find other ways through 6 to make it a hair longer but in the end 6 is short.

As for 3 we normally go Tomato into 3. Those pics however Bob (yellow JK) and I went from the main road (Camp J) into 3. Very shortly after you enter 3 from Camp J there is a deep hole which is often too deep. If you can get through that then you go for a bit through areas with deep holes but also high roads until you hit the flatbed lake. in the wet season it is a lake but the bed is completely flat. So once you go about 10 fee into it the depth stays the same. Pic 5 above is in the lake section. After the lake there are some deep hole sections with no way around so its go or turn around. This all happens before you get to the Trail 3 Fork which allows you to go north or south.

IMO going from Tomato into 3 is the better rout as you can go much further before you hit impassable areas and many more alternate routs. If you go from Camp J into 3 you have no alternate routs on the trail so if you hit a deep sections you backtrack to the main road sadly.

just my .02 I agree with Dan, tomato field leading to trail 3 is always fun and last month we were able to go for awhile before running into a hole that was way too deep for stock JKU's

You were out last month? did you notice many of the deeper spots had some ways to go around? I was out there about 3 months ago and I'm hoping that there will be enough to run trail 3 and one of those forks all the way through.

Regarding trail 6 the circle on the map you made if you go high then you have the option to going Right (west) or left (east)

I know trail 3 from J camp like the back of my hand If you get past the first few puddles then your good to get half way up 4 never had the time to go any futher

East on 6 is not actually the trail just west. I think east is access for FWC. Up to you on where you want to start i just know like noor said going tomato first to 3 is a longer ride with more options should you get stuck. Going j to 3 there are spots as you get to the form that have no other ways around so it could end up being a much shorter time then turn around. Going tomato if you get stuck going toward j you can just backtrack a bit then head north to 4 and 5

Yup, the video posted earlier in this thread is from November, we ran tomato into 3 and were able to bypass lots of deep holes but then ran into one that was 3-4ft deep w/ no bypass and turned around but that was a good distance into the trail..so are we agreeing on meeting at the entrance to Tomato Field Grade? Boynton ppl(my brother, Lil Yeller, Adrian and I) are going to meet up at 8:30 so we should be to the southgate around 9:00-9:15ish.

I'm north at Hypoluxo, but I'd come south to ride up together. How about the Panera at Lyons and Boynton? Easy to hop on TP north after grabbing breakfast and coffee. What time? I'm guessing 8 to get there by 9.

both places(gas station & panera) are very close to the turnpike, i just picked the gas station because its on the east side of the turnpike which is where we are coming from...It takes about 35-45 minutes getting there doing 75-80ish, i have no problem meeting a little earlier

Sorry, Gas station is fine. I completely missed the reference to it, but saw someone ask where to meet.

Looking forward to it, Merry Christmas folks.
