Ended up having the transmission completely rebuilt. Tech said it was full of metal.
I decided on Best Transmission off of Beaver Street. Did a nice job, and the bill was a tad over $1K.

I'm in jax south side. Just got a my jeep and everyone waves and it was weird at first. I find myself waving to people who aren't looking and I feel silly

I just wave at every Jeep I see, some respond and some don't, no big deal. If my kids are in the Jeep, it becomes a game to guess who will wave back.

I find that most wave when I'm on a slower local street, whereas if I'm on Southside Blvd., many are too busy talking on their phone or just paying more attention to other traffic than to me. The modded Jeeps seem to wave back more than the soccer moms.

I wave at people in Jacksonville across 6 lanes of traffic just because its the rule "the jeep wave " comes with owning a jeep, a lot of times I don't receive the wave back but at least I'm trying!

Anyone want to plan a trip to the jettys and ride on the beach? They only have one short trail says four wheel drive beyond this point. I had fun last weekend when the rain finally stopped. I think it would be fun to have a bunch of us driving down heckscher drive on a nice day

It sounds like fun but I don't think I'd be able to do it this weekend.

I was going to say the same. I'd be down for a ride real soon, but this weekend looks to be the last gasp of old man winter. And quite a gasp it's going to be, eh? 30's and 50's? Brrr!!!

Yeah, we need a nice day when the tops can come down and maybe even the doors can come off. Should be perfect topless weather soon. I love March and April in Jacksonville.

Guess I should say hi here.

I'm not technically in Jax though, lol. I get to deal with lovely blanding traffic daily! lol

Is it me or does JEA own all the best trails in jax? Under every power line I find a sweet muddy path. I'm out off old st Augustine road and I'm covered in mud.

Just a heads up to my fellow local Jeepers, I'm selling the Rubicon rock rails off my Unlimited Jeep. They're in great condition with only 2K miles on them. Tell anyone you know around town who may be interested.

I could have used those when i was looking about 9 months ago. I waited about 3 months for some to show up on CL and drove to Gainesville to pick them up.

I'd recommend listing on CL also if you haven't already. Sold my plastic side steps on CL before I bought the Rubi rails. Also sold my stock tires/wheels on CL in a couple of hours.

If the timing works out, I'm in. I'll be out of town for a week at the end of March.

Welcome! Finding good places to go wheeling is the hard part. There are several good beaches in St. Johns County and Nassau County for beach rides.

For off-roading in the woods, my club goes to Osceola Nat'l. Forest which is about an hour drive from Jacksonville. Lots of sandy trails, water and mud. A couple of mud bogs in the vicinity, but I'm not really into just slogging through a lot of mud so I haven't tried those. Although we're surrounded by forests and state preserves, most of them are off-limits for 4-wheeling.
