Jacksonville Wave?

I live in Jacksonville, FL and have had my TJ for 3 weeks now. (I had a TJ years ago when I lived in Columbus, OH) I'm beginning to think that nobody in Jax knows about the wave. Anyone out there with some insight?
Still waving..

Same here. I have been away from Jeeps for about 5 years and back then, everyone waved. I have been back in my jeep for about 2 months now and have had maybe 3 people wave back to me.

Well, I am in a Blue Unlimited Mountain ed. If you see me, I will wave back and my mom, who has Alzheimers and is always with me, would get a kick out of someone waving back. She is fed up with people not waving back LOL

Also transplanted to Jax from CBUS!! I notice the same thing. Mostly it's the JK'ers (at least here at the beach area) that never wave. Usually too busy on their phones texting or checking the grocery receipt from Winn-Dixie! (I miss Kroger). I just keep waving in the hopes that they will catch on!

I live in the area and more people wave than not at me. Usually it's a JK that doesn't wave.

I am finding that many do not wave at the JKUs. I am beginning to see this division between the models. Kind of weird really. I have been driving Wranglers all my life and to me, a Jeep is a Jeep is a Jeep (wranglers that is)

Would really like to see more unification within the Jeep Peeps

We try to wave at every Jeepster we see. Some reply, some don't. I've never seen anyone other than Wranglers wave at each other, but now that you've mentioned it, I will make sure i do my Jeepster duty and wave at all Jeeps. 4 wheel drive only of course!! LMAO

I agree. The hierarchy is fun to read about, but bad in practice. A Jeep is a Jeep. JKers don't wave likely because they don't know about the wave because TJs, YJs, and CJs haven't been waving. It's a vicious cycle...
To Keep waving is the solution.

BAM! You are correct Sir.

I live on Gate PKWY and drive JTB every day. I get at least on wave a day from the other side of the highway running 65 but never from a JK... No offense to any one but that's the way it is.

well it has been a while since i was here and it is crazy, I have not had ONE person wave back to me. I swear they stare at me like I am nuts and have not gotten any love when I am waving to them. I wave on the highway, back roads, 2 lanes and parking lots.
I drive a JKU and I feel like I am a leaper or something. I have waved to JKUs, TJs, YJ and every other wrangler see. It is really getting frustrating! The wave is one of the things that is really cool about owning a Jeep. It is that exclusive club...I feel like I have not been let it.

Let's set a time and you can drive by me and I will wave!

There's a red YJ that alway seems to be driving northbound on SanJose when I'm driving southbound (red TJ=me). I can consistently count on that wave. Keeps me from going O'fer on the wave stats for the day.
If the driver of the YJ reads the forum, much obliged.

I went to Fernandina yesterday and on the way back (via Heckscher drive and A1A) I thought my arm was going to fall off due to all the waiving! It was a beautiful day and that is the way to the only beaches you can drive on in the area. When the tops are down and people are happy, Jeep waves abound!

Move to Lakeland and you'll wear your arm out waving to everyone. I'm glad I haven't noticed this problem here. Of course you get your occassional day dreamer, which we are all guilty of, but nothing to the extent you are experiencing.

I grew up in Macclenny (if you know where that is then you will understand...) and everyone waves there, not just the jeepers!

I live in Fruit Cove, and drive a lifted yellow '06 TJ. I am always driving up and down San Jose, esp. between FC and 295; and since I work at Mayo, I'm also on 9A and JTB. I still wave to every Wrangler I see. If my husband is with me, he points them out ahead of time...its become a little game to keep track of the different colors we pass.

But I have to agree with you all about the wave; I've had my Jeep for about 6 weeks now, and rarely get any waves except in my own neighborhood, and then only from YJs or TJs. I don't recall ever getting a wave from a JKU, ever. But I plan to keep on wavin'!
