We're heading over early for the day Saturday. We're only about an hour +/- away and being our first time, we're going to check everything out.

Looking forward to it!!

I live in the Daytona area so staying at the house, but will be attending several of the events.

I think this thread should be somewhere in a general discussion area. This event draws a crowd from everywhere and I think that a lot of WF peeps may not see it in the local forums.

when the event gets closer you'll see about 9 different threads on the subject. I'm interested in the Florida crowd. the folks from the state that I run into on the trail.

Yeah, I posted one in the upcoming events (On the Trail) section - Jeep Beach 2014

LOL...actually wasn't sure where it should be. General discussion would get the most exposure I'd think...

I've heard of people coming from as far away as Canada for this event.

For those that went last year, where do most of the events occur? The Speedway, the beach? I'm trying to figure out the best hotel to stay at where I'm fairly close to most of the events.

the big event is at the speedway on Saturday. Sunday is the parade on the beach. Friday has a couple of things too, lots of vendors have specific parties at the hotels they're staying at; just keep your ears open - pick where you want to go... and enjoy.

Ok gotcha tabber, I agree with the meeting of local people. Was just thinking for getting the woe out. I haven't really followed the forum until recent even though I signed up a few years ago. I wasn't sure how much coverage the event got on here. Looking forward to meeting up with some of y'all. I would definitely be down for a WF meet up during the event.

Knuckles I would also try to make it over for the parade on Sunday if your schedule permits. It is really cool watching the beach get taken over by Jeeps.

Beach side hotels from Daytona beach shores north through Daytona beach would work for any one attending. Also hotels on international speedway blvd. When I went on Sunday last year to the parade I don't think there was a hotel I passed on A1A that didn't have Jeepers at it. I would avoid the smaller motels and especially the ones on US 1 unless you need a by the hour motel

For those not on Facebook, here's the latest from Jeep Beach -

We are making some adjustments to help ease the registration process for everyone. We are still on track to open today, but it looks like it will be a little later then we anticipated.

Merchandise will not be available as we are finalizing the shirt designs still.

Just an idea I'm having. I know that the local FL WF Jeepers want to try to get together. If I were to open the doors to my house and host a BBQ pool gathering with burgers and such how many of y'all would attend. I'm trying to see if it is something I can accommodate or if it will e to large to hold at the house. I wood provide burgers and hot dogs, chips and such. You would just Need to bring drinks of your choice. Weather permitting I have a pool. Just kinda an Idea I'm throwing around. I'm going to look at the jeep beach schedule to try and do it at a time that not a whole lot is going on. I live about 5-10 min from Daytona so it's not out of the way. Let me know what y'all think.

Where on the beach does the parade take place? I'd like to get a hotel that would overlook that section of the beach.

If you look up The Shores Resort, that is were the parade started from last year. The beach entrance just north of that hotel. 2637 south atlantic ave is the address in Daytona beach shores. Not sure if they will use the same start point just going off of last year. Could be different this year though. Once they post the agenda for the week it would be easier to tell

I was just advising him of the area that the hotel was so he could try to get something in the area that the parade would be in. The host hotel always sells out first but just use that address as a reference point.
