love bug season

well, we all know they suck and mess up the entire vehicle... how do you prepare and maintain your vehicle during this period?...

i know some will say "its a jeep... F them bugs",, but what about other vehicles and well what about also a nice clean looking jeep for when you go to work in between weekend trails..

Use cooking spray on any surface in contact with the bugs. They just don't have anything to stick to

What an apropos thread, the love bugs are out of control here in Jax. My daily commute takes me through a bad patch in the afternoons too.

Wet dryer sheets, any brand, melt the little buggers and rinses clean. No muss, no fuss.

Reminds me... Better put some in the Jeep....

I like the dryer sheet idea. I'll have to try that.
I just tend to keep a good coat of wax on the front of the jeep during the spring and fall swarm.
I'd skip the pam spray. Tried that on one of my vehicles once and it F'd up the paint.
Bug wise, not too bad down here in Daytona.......yet.

A couple coats of wax is the best prep. Then when I wash, put extra liquid soap (I use Rain-X Car Wash) on the mitt, wipe the front buggy areas lightly, allow to soak a few minutes, rub lightly again, repeat if needed until the bugs are gone, then rinse clean.

Luckily, we had very few lovebugs for a couple days last week, and they seem to be gone already. However, I have a feeling they're going to be back again in a few days.
