Miami Area Jeeping

Hey everyone!

I am a new 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited owner and as many of you have experienced, I've been bit by the bug and want to take my ride offroad. I've never done any off roading so I'm wondering if you guys know of any good spots especially for beginners (want to ease into this lol). I've heard of 8th street and 137 Ave. Does any one have tips for that spot or maybe a review. I plan on going with my friend who has a lifted diesel truck so I'm wondering if he'd be able to maneuver there too. Thanks

We are out there all the time. This time of the year is great for beginners out there as it is pretty dry, but still plenty of challenging places if you want to try them. Look for us out there and dont be afraid to stop us. Look for anytruck, jeep, or fourwheeler that has a mudaholics sticker on it.

you can check out some of my youtube videos, most are from there

Thanks CaptFish. I did see that they have fenced that area. Is this trail finally closed? I heard rumors about construction coming to that plot of land soon.

I've been in the Big Cypress a few times and I think is great for starters.

You need to get a permit though. What size tires do you have?

If there is anyone from the west Kendall area I found some decent looking mudding trails at the end of bird road. Didn't get too deep so I'm not sure how intense they are but would definitely like to check them out if anyone is interested or has more info.

Hey, went to JW Corbett past week with a buddy. Nice time. They have two trails open for vehicles. #3 & #6. Entered via the south entrance to the preserve. Little pamphlet maps there as you enter and pay the park fee.

Been dry and gets a little tight on the trails before they open up. Don't go solo. Plenty of water obstacles to hit. I got stuck in some mud and hooked up to my buddy to pull myself out. Shortly thereafter he hit a water rut way too deep. Hus front went under the water but luckily no damage except a little water getting inside on the floor.

Overall though it was a good time. Up 95 to North Lake Drive then about twenty minutes west puts u close by.

Pics are from that day. FYI, both of us are rookies when it comes to hitting the dirt

Glad I bolted on the Engo.

Does anyone know the best way to find i6 jeeps in Miami? I am currently in the market for a YJ and don't want to spend more than $5000 but there doesn't seem to be much on craigslist.

Thanks and I hope to join y'all soon.

Good luck on that one. There is a guy in Pompano that always has jeeps for sale. But usually run from $5000 and up. Has a lot of CJ's and YJ's. Here's the info on it...

Brokers Car Sales Pompano Beach, FL, 33060 - YP.com

My mechanic who has been in the business for over 30yrs building jeeps is on the opposite side of Dixie might know of people selling, you might want to give him a yell...

Brandon's Auto & Truck Sales & Service, Inc. - expert auto repair - Pompano Beach, FL 33060

Good Luck!!

My understanding is the facility that handles the permits and inspection is on Tamiami about 40 minutes west of Krome

Hey,

Casey Bones posted the other day "Homestead Humps 4/19/14" about possibly going to the Humps, down south, with a small group but that may not have worked out. Haven't heard anything.

Where you thinking about exploring at? The only place I've been is JW Corbett in WPB and 8th street.

But the area by SW 8th street area near Tamiami is patrolled by FWC.

I'm around on Sunday (in Hollywood)

Well. We'll see if there a crew going to the Humps on Sun. I kind of know where and how to access it but it'd nice to go with someone that's been back there before.

Otherwise. We can always drive up to Corbett on Sunday if interested. Its a nice place to kill a few hours. Sadly, I don't think there are many options down here.
