north and north central florida

looking for public places to safely go training in or around Live Oak, Bell, Gainesville areas. beginner stuff for now. I so don't want to scuff up my jeep yet. I know, I know, jeeps are meant to get a bit roughed up, but it's brand new and I'm not ready for that yet.

A couple of places but they can get tight on the trail:

Lochloosa, Ocala, Withlacoochee, and Osceola are close.

Osceola National Forest - Home

Ocala National Forest - Home

Withlacoochee State Forest: Florida Forest Service- FDACS

Lochloosa Wildlife Management Area

You should look into a jeep Club as they offer so much for all, like:

Ocala Jeep Club

Let me know if I can help or when you want to go out....

It is hot now, but nice in the mornings for a trip.

I just checked out your link to the Ocala Jeep Club. I emailed the membership person.

I was in gainesville yesterday and my brother and I tried out the trail behind Cabana Beach Apartments. the one direction was a bit much for us, considering I don't have the tires or set-up to deal with the truly off road stuff. The other direction was just a path with nothing much to see. Took us back out to 24th. We didn't have a clue where else to go so we ended up going back to his house.

You will be surprised at what a stock Jeep can really do.

Be carefull where you drive, just cause there are some trails/ruts doesn't make it legal....... Huge fine.

I didn't know there was a Live Oak Jeep club. I live in Lake City with a new JK that is still stock and my son has a stock TJ. We have been thinking about doing some riding in Osceola. I'll post here when I get some time off and can go.
