Looking for a club or some jeep friends near jacksonville, I live in Lake Asbury between Middleburg, green cove springs, and fleming island. I've had my jeep for over 2 years now and still haven't taken it out cause I don't know anybody or where to go...
There are several clubs near where you are. I'm part of RocksnRutz that is out of Jacksonville/Orange Park/St. Augustine - ish area. Jacksonville has Southern Sands, Just Jeeps of Jacksonville. St. Augustine has Matanzas Jeep Club. There is also one that is fairly new out of Alachua County, North Florida Jeep Group. There is a poker run this weekend that starts in Orange Park and ends up in Hastings that we'll (RocksnRutz) will be at: https://www.facebook.com/events/532957943480235/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming

I live in the lake Asbury area. I've had my 2008 Wrangler X for 4 months now. I've only taken mine to the beach but not trail riding. I too am looking for a club to hook up with.
I met up with some folks from the WAYALIFE forums and went down to HardRock Fl and rode the trails there. Mooncalf, You might be interested in those forums as well since its centered on mostly JK's even though i was the only YJ on the trip, I was still accepted and hung with them. Nice group of people there.
Oh and I saw you driving down Henley, those green headlights are highly recognizable
Just found out about this wayalife forum from last post above, got my jeep JKU last weekend and looking for people near Jax/St Augustine. Went over to WL and they have huge thread about the hard Rock FL ride. Seems like this last outing was fun, bummed I missed it!
It took them about a day to give me access.... Don't know why its taken so long. Maybe the forum master guy is away or something. They are really nice there so i don't know what the problem is
There are other groups around if y'all are looking for human interaction. Obviously, various groups in and around Jacksonville: RocksnRutz (Green Cove/Fleming Island-ish), Southern Sands (Jax), Just Jeeps of Jacksonville (obvious), Matanzas Jeep Club (St. Augustine), North Florida Jeep Group (Alachua/High Springs/Gainesville). I believe UNF has a groups as well.
Regarding the link for RocksnRutz, Come to find out, the group page is set to secret so you have to be invited (sorry about that). PM me your email/name and I'll send out the invite so that you can be included in the next event/meeting.
Don't forget about Black Creek Jeep. I saw one of there members on 220 and College. I don't know how big of a club they are but they want to get bigger and do alot more trail riding.
I stopped at the Winn Dixie in Lake Asbury. Saw a black JK from rocksnruts so I parked next to it. It looked like he just got back from trail riding. I should've taken a picture. Badass jeep!

My soon to be son in law was following us in my Tacoma to St Augustine Beach. He tried to follow on the 4X4 only beach. Problem is my Tacoma is two wheel drive. Ended up having to tow him for about 1000 feet.
Air down a bit & you should be good to go even in 2wd. Keep it 'floating'. South end of the island has much more powder than the north end. Weather this year hasn't been so great for the beach (driveability) & they even banned non 4wd vehicles for spell. Not sure if that's still in effect.
^^^ Got the Flyer Saturday at Home Depot on the Island. I can't make it this Wednesday due to work, but would be interested in future events/gatherings. Any other way to get info other than facebook?
Hey guys, I've been riding with Southern Sands for a few months. Great bunch of people. We meet on the first Friday of every month at the Auto Zone on Southside and Baymeadows road. Everyone is welcome.
Jake
