Should be great weather. I cant wait to get back up there.

Tabber is a great trail guide and we usually steer clear of the stuff that breaks our rigs. With some good spotting we get the job done.

Looking forward to Sunday. If you are new to this or looking for a good group to get out with, this would be the trip to do.

BTW, I'm bringing my wife and daughter, make if a family thing and there is less resistance for mods down the road!

What time are you thinking for Sunday, and where to meet? I'll be coming from Sarasota, might bring another JK and/or YJ buddy along.

sunday ride specifics....

alright gang -- here's some specifics for the Sunday ride:

we are meeting up at the gas station on the corner of county road 491 and 98. if you look at google maps - take the veterans (589 toll road) as far north as you can go... then hang a right (you can't miss the gas station - approximately 1 mile down the road from the end of the veterans expressway [589 toll road]).

our meetup time will be 0930 - 1000

if you're not at the gas station by 1000 well, we'll cross that bridge if it comes to that.

a couple ground rules. my old lady is with me, my buddies and their old ladies too. we have a great group... and we tend to have the most fun when it's more family oriented. in other words, if you're going to be out of control - don't come (enough said).

those of you that are interested in coming - PM me and I'll give you further directions and my cell phone number. you can text me and i'll answer any questions - we'll use that as a guide if folks are running late or lost.

hope some of you guys can make it! it's going to be a good time for sure! oh, and we're going rain or shine...

joe - great hope you guys can make it.

SR 54 is the best bet to shoot over to the Veterans, or you could get off at the Cortez Blvd exit off i-75, head west on 700 - 700 eventually becomes 98 (you'll want to take 98 north or west - which ever direction will take you north...)

you'll run into the gas station on 98, if you come the way i mentioned, the gas station will be on your right hand side at the intersection of 98 and citrus way/lecanto highway.

Joe, I am in Brandon and you guys would be passing right by me... Did you wanna meet up and we can have a group rolling together to the meetup? I was gonna take 75 all the way up and avoid all the suncoast tolls... Let me know what you think!

Either way is fine with me. I'm not totally against toll when it makes life easier.

I'll be running some "diagnostics" on the TJ on Saturday to make sure I don't break anything Sunday. Will have to pray the trackbar bracket holds on to the axle fine.

I'm waiting to hear back from another buddy, which might make a difference on the route I take since a lifted 4-cyl YJ with fat tires might have trouble keeping up on the interstate or tollway. Otherwise me & my rig are open to whatever meeting place, route or terrain I throw at it!

Hopefully i'll be in the next one. The wife and I are eager to get back in the dirt. The YJ is almost done. Should have it on the road this weekend. Fingers Crossed.

I'm in Riverview/S. Brandon near the intersection of Bloomingdale and Providence. So I'm down for meeting at Best Buy or Brandon Harley. Just confirm which place and the time.

I'm in a 4.0 TJ on 35's with 4.56 gearing. It goes pretty well, but I'm fine with taking our time.

That sucks. Too bad not this week.
Within the last few months:
Radiator (x3 - kept failing), cap, upper and lower hoses, heater core hose
Aftermarket temp gauge
Battery
Alternator
Rear upper control arms
Rear u-joint
Idler pulley
35x12.50x15 BFG KM2's

I hope I'm about done for a little while...

Nice! Where do you get the mods done around here? My plan is to do it all myself but would like to have a shop to call home as well.

This is so very true.

We go to Land o Lakes 4X4, good people and they will treat you right.

SO I (obviously) have limited room in the Jeep seeing that I'm bringing a full crew. Would a hitch cargo platform thing help or be more of a hindrance up where we're going?

Likely only two in my JKU if you need room for people or gear.

wouldn't recommend using a hitch cargo rack on this trail. nothing crazy but there is some off camber stuff and a few climbs.

and as rob said land o lakes 4x4 is our shop of choice. I do something's myself, but gears and lockers are beyond doing in the street in front of my house.

springs, track bars, stuff like that... yeah. and I enjoy turning wrenches. with a little luck I'll be helping with the gear install. I'd like to learn.
