Tampa Area??

I interviewed for a job at the Bay Pines VA hospital yesterday and I am pretty sure I got it. We will be relocating and know nothing of the area. What are some good areas? We have a 9yr old girl and 3yr old boy. I will not be making 6 figures so I am not looking for that area but I will make enough to stay out of any ghettos (well I hope to anyway). I know Bay Pines is a little drive from Tampa. My wife is in the running a for a job at the Tampa VA. So we are looking for something around those two areas or something centralized and both have a commute. Thanks for any help guys.

For apartments, there are several on Gandy on the pinellas side that are nice. Pretty much in between for a commute. I live in the Tyrone area, short drive to the baypines va, its nice, no problems. Largo is also a nice central location. Let me know what you are looking for and Ill be glad to help. Ive been in pinellas county all my life 33 yrs so i know my way around.

It's better to regret something you did do, than to regret something you didn't do.

I've lived in south tampa, and now live in snell isle near downtown st Pete. For somewhere in the middle of the va and bay pines, I'd probably look in the feather sound area or safety harbor.

Depending on how much you're willing to drive, Dunedin is a really nice little town on the gulf that is likely to be pretty family friendly

Well I got a tentative offer. Have to get physical and couple other things, none of which will be a problem. We are in Daytona for the Fourth and will be going to Tampa/Bay Pines tomorrow to check out the area.
