Tampa - St Pete - Clearwater - Reputable Shop?

Need to have a lift installed as well as some axle work done.

Just called Jeff's Jeep Yard in Clearwater and they didn't know what C Gussets were, so that might not be a good sign.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Thanks!

yep... land o lakes 4x4 is my shop of choice. if I'm not working on my rig... they are. Hoyt and Jeepetos are also good shops (in pinellas county) I live in Tampa... so LOL4x4 it is for me... and I'm happy to recommend them...

Never heard of them. Tony Hoyt is a great guy to deal with and Jeepetos is very good as well. Can't go wrong with either of those choices.

Called Jeepetos. Spoke to a man with a thick accent that quoted me an insane price on a lift install.

Inane being extremely expensive..

That convo ended quickly.

Leaning toward LOL 4X4.

Talked to Josh this afternoon. Seems like a good guy and I look forward to working with him.

Thanks for the recommendation guys!

I used to live down the road from his shop. Now I have nearly a 50 mile trek to get there... Oh well

Josh should be doing it all, waiting on final invoice to make sure everything looks good.

Will be doing some light wheeling.

This rig only has 3.73. Will need some 4.56's soon! (Have Auto trans).

Would also like some arb lockers

you'll be okay with that set up for a while.... but when you do crack the axles open - i would recommend 4.88s at a minimum for 37s... (it's what i have) and look at OX lockers too. might also want to consider chromo shafts... while you're in there...

a couple questions. which shop are you referring to, and what kind of lift? just remember, you get what you pay for - i'm okay paying a bit extra for somethings... a suspension lift isn't something to look for the lowest bidder on.

depending on the lift - if you're willing to do it over the weekend, we can do it in my garage for beer and pizza. pretty sure we can find some helpers (lonewolf and fljeepleo come to mind)

The 4 wheel parts shop. And it's a 2.5 suspension new shocks rims and tires. I'm not looking for the cheapest just experienced and when I talked to them on the phone it sounded like they install a good amount of suspension lifts

Couple small changes to the project..

Not sleeving and gusseting the front axle anymore... Just going with a ProRock 44.

ARB Lockers front and rear. 4.56 gears.

Going with Coast DS instead of Tom Woods.

Upgraded to X Factor Lift.

Install should be happening soon. Josh is just waiting for all the parts.

Sounds like a lot of really nice parts, but if you are going to all that expense with the axles, I don't think I would be getting 4.56 gears with 37's. I would be looking at at least 4.88's or 5.13's.

good point. I know you've got the new engine and all... but 4.88s in my 3.8 with 37s are almost not quite enough....

You guys are thinking pre-2012. 4.56's in 2012+ are equivalent to lower than a 5.38 gear in previous year 3.8L JK's.

Figuring I'll craigslist the 'old' front axle.

Check below charts:

For highway speeds, and a daily driver, 4.56's seemed like the best choice.
