Invoice should be invoice. If you're getting variations, someone is messing with you.
Build your 2011 here:
Please Enter A Valid ZIP Code
Hopefully that link will work for you. Enter your zip code and it should take you to the JKU build page.
Build it, and it will tell you the invoice price. The invoice price should not change (except if you change states, I think. But even then I'm not sure.)
I built a 2011 Sport Unlimited based on the information you gave. For some reason, mine comes up as exactly $80 more than yours, at $31,305 including the $750 Destination Fee. I'm not sure why that is, but I'll use my number as the example.
TreadLightly Discount: ~$300
This is important:
All Florida dealers that I have dealt with include a "Dealer Fee" that changes depending on which dealer you go to. Most will tell you (semi-truthfully) that they have to charge everyone this amount and that it's non-negotiable. This fee is completely bogus, and I think FL dealers are the only ones that charge it. They claim it includes things like "dealer preparation", which is an outright lie because Dealer Prep is included in the MSRP already and is clearly marked on the window sticker! Tell the dealer that you will not pay this fee, and be firm. Tell them if they are charging $XXX Dealer Fee that they can reduce the price of the Jeep by $XXX and include the fee.
The state of Florida has a law that attempts to make things a little more fair. It basically says, "If you charge a Dealer Fee, you must charge the same Dealer Fee to everyone." Well, that's a great excuse for the dealerships. "Well we charge $700 as our Dealer Fee, so we HAVE to charge everyone $700 for our Dealer Fee according to state law." Well, sure. Just reduce my Jeep price by $700 and add a $700 Dealer Fee. Done.
This is exactly what I did with my 2011 Sport. Additionally, I had them remove the Doc/CVR Fee. In the end, I paid:
99% of invoice (because of the TreadLightly discount) + tax/tag.
That's it. Plus, you can likely bargain down farther if you're buying off the lot. I ordered mine from the factory so I didn't have too much more wiggle room.
BUT -- never pay more than 99% of invoice + tax/tag.
