Thanks. The install was a b****. Front shocks were a pain in the @**. But I like the way it rides. Taking it wheeling next Sunday. Can't wait.

Ouch! I thought it was cool to play out there. I haven't heard anyone having an issue with the cops but I've only been out there a handful of times.

Talk to a guy that used to go out there until he got a ticket. He said he went in by the baseball fields. Not posted. Got pulled over by 2 berekely county sherrifs on 4 wheelers and his ticket was 650. I'm not going to risk it. I can't afford a 650 dollar ticket. Plus the old lady would tear me a new one.

Heck yea!! I go to Uwharrie some in NC. Very nice out there. Not much mud but technical crawling which I enjoy better. Some areas get rough but most is doable. I took my JKU out there stock and did fine. We usually get a group to go, I'll let u know when we go back.

Uwharrie opens at the end of March and I'm thinking about a trip up there early/ mid April. There's always Gulches as well. Plenty of mud if you want it, but mostly technical crawling and trails. I have a coworker with a TJ that has access to a bunch of land near Adams Run. He says there's some trails on it. I'll look into that.

From our Gulches trip last month:

They have a video walk through on you tube where a bone stock Z71 does 90% of the trails. It is the 10% that will break stuff....

There is nothing local according to low country. Closest thing is the gulches. That just sucks.

Hey guys, not as a joke at all, is there a way we could get the state to let us play some where? I was reading at work the other day, where the franny state park opened up land for people with ATV/Dirtbikes. Im thinking, if the state could find a way to make money off it somehow, they might be game for it. Im sure on other 4x4 forums, others are thinking the same thing. If we could get a bunch of people, and a good plan, i dont see why it would not work. Im down for any ideas to get something local, and leagle.

I googled trails in south Carolina and there is a group trying to get the state to do it. But legislation is trying to pass a bill to make it harder for us to wheel because of insurance.

Bastards! Cause they don't have jeeps! Bet if the "official" vehicle of the State House of Reps was a jeep we could wheel everywhere!!! Lol. On my way to Boone, gonna hit up Richland Rd near Blowing Rock. Very nice trail to play on and it's LEGAL! I'll take pics

Have fun. Just talked to 2 berkely cops and they said no tickets would be given. Only a warning. So I think the guy was pulling my leg. Going tomorrow for sure.

where are u guys going? i live in knightsville.. been trying to find some spots to go my self around the area...

for those asking about gulches.. their trails are rated from easy to hard or blue, orange, black

you can pretty much do all the blue trails with a bone stock jeep, as i did it with my new 2012 when i only had little over 1k miles on it.. had to test it out man lol...

with a 3" 33's and disconnects you will tackle pretty much everything out there, except some of the double black trails.. a lot of it is rock crawling and hill climbs.. so lockers, and expectations for damage would be a must.. but the blue and orange trails are still a whole lot of fun, and in fact.. me and a buddy of mine with a tj are planning a camping weekend out there, as they allow it, no alcohol though..

Gulches, Laurens, SC- There are trails for every level of 4x4. We have gone with stock Jeeps to near buggies and everyone had a great time. Most of the trails have a way around the hard stuff and are posted so you will know if you can make it. It is only 88 arces so even if you can't follow the bigger rigs, you can take another trail and meet up with them. Plus Skip is a helluva guy and bends over backwards to make it fun for everyone.

Uwharrie Nat'l Forest, NC (URE)- Trails for all. Bigger than Gulches though. Most trails are doable for most rigs, only a few really tough ones. We are trying to get a trip going at the end of April to hit URE.

c0d, if you want to go, meet up at the CVS on main st in Summerville at 11am.

Nice! I may have to venture out that way soon. I hear a lot about it but never made it out that way. I will post in advance when a couple of us plan to go that way if anyone in the group wants to go they can.
