Has anyone else noticed that alot of Jeepers around this area don't wave back? I'm starting to feel like a bit of an idiot waving all the time.

Ok so you must be the other guy that waves. If you see a lifted red 2 door hardtop Jk with a black grille that's me!

Yeah not many wavers. I wave, or if doors off do the toss of hand out the side.

Well since there seems to be a couple Jeepers in the columbia area, are there any Jk owners that have cut the stock fenders?

I haven't been up there yet, but I have heard that the gulches in Laurens sc are good. And if you don't mind a bit more of a drive you can head to uwharrie state park in Troy nc, it's a pretty bad ass place

Jocassee Gorges is in the northern part of Pickens county. There's about 45 or so miles of gravel/dirt road that's open. Also part of the property is in oconee county, I hear that side is a little rougher. You won't have any problems even stock but its still worth the ride. Its all managed by DNR and is patrolled so be sure you stay on open roads and follow the rules posted at the entrances.

I had heard about that. Wasn't quite sure where it was though. It sounds pretty awesome. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

There's two entrances to the property in Pickens county. One off highway 178 above Rocky Bottom. The other off Cleo Chapman road near the Vineyards Fire Dept. I'd be glad to show you through sometime but I'm about to leave town till after new years. And my days off are usually Mondays and Tuesdays. Maybe in the spring when the gates open again?
You can also contact DNR for more info. They have a pretty good map of the property available. If you're near Clemson they have an office there.

Forgot to mention, the property is only open during big game hunting seasons. Sept 15 to Jan 15 and late march to early May.
